Considering how similar our favorites actually are I'm having decent expectations of the show and it's achieved an excellent start wtih grace!

Trust me when I say it only gets better. The first arc kind of just sets things up to get heavily deconstructed afterwords.

They are all there.

Remastered

But mixed up to hell.

The ones with the longer titles "A Hundred Billion stars etc" are the prequels.

I already gave somebody the link to find their proper subs.

If only kissanime would sort out their streams -.-

I reported it but they wanted screenshots, times when it went of blah blah blah.

I'm not getting paid enough to do that xD

Thank you, Mr. No Touch  :)

I went and bookmarked it for some unspecified time in the future.

I gotta watch me some Utena too.

Only fair really.

Just that recently well...

Re watching LOTGH and now HxH?

I'm tackling long-ass shows here xD

Speaking of magical girl shows. I should really get to Fate/Kaleid 2wei shouldn't I?

I mean, I did suffer through the first part.

I'll try to write up an FAQ to bookmark for future reference.

If I'm arsed.

Which I probably will be.

Because I want the world and their cats to watch LOTGH

Jeez.

I know you do.

You showed me Tiger and Bunny.

Which was awesome and easily contends with the others who battle for my 5th place.

More people should watch Tiger and Bunny.

It's a very good anime.

Regarding Utena: Sim this technically ties in exactly what we were just discussing with LotGH. Season 1 of Utena (the first arc, 13 episodes) is a fairly standard fair. It's still rather enjoyable for what it does and what it sets into motion, but the series for me doesn't truly start shining til the second arc (which admittedly is my favorite arc of the whole show). So it's basically one of those cases where I ask people to stick it out til the Black Rose arc. It's worth it, especially if you're like me and adore surrealism and David Lynch-like stuffs.

This is true

I'm also beginning to enjoy Kancolle, it has a lot of hidden humor if you know Japanese naval history and look in the background.

This picture describes all of that.

See my signature?

That's motherf-cking Francis York Morgan from Deadly Premonition.

The gaming industry's Twin Peaks.

Of course I'm gonna love it ;-)

And you've bumped that sh*t higher in the list there!

So don't worry about me dropping stuff. I pulled through the overly-underwhelming Tytania, the awful Guilty Crown and the mind-numbing Hellsing Ultimate.

At least SAO has waifus and cool action scenes.

:D

Yar! I actually previously owned Deadly Premonition solely cause people said it was heavily influenced by Twin Peaks and that's a damn good way to get me to buy things. X3 I had it on the 360 though which I no longer own so at some point I do want to get the PC version so that I can actually beat it. I was rather fond of what I played years ago though, even if one of the QTEs I couldn't beat. >.<

Yes Sim loves Deadly Premonition.

Though unfortunately whenever he quotes it I automatically think he's talking to me.

I have a weird relationship with DP.

I love it

And hate it.

It's so weird... my relationship with it.

The game is too.

But that's not the problem.

That's kind of like my relationship with Eternal Darkness. I love the principle behind the game, the atmosphere, sanity meter and massive Lovecraft influence, but I hate most of the levels with a passion. :P

Oh god.

The combat levels in DP are dreadful.

I don't want to spoil stuff, but seriously... the characters, the early game and the Zach stuff SAVE the rest.

A game can be as creative and surreal as it wants to be, but please don't leave me with giant plot-holes, stupid supernatural stuff that's never explained and a crappy-ass excuse for a cliche villain at the end of an otherwise fantastic game.

I'm running off of a very poor memory cause I played it shortly after it came out on the 360 but if I remember correctly, I believe I was either in or after the hospital portion of the game. I remember doing this neat little chess puzzle and then... I guess I'll jump to spoilers even though my memory is insanely hazy:

Spoiler

I really liked the surreal charm of the game, but I can completely understand why you said in that other topic to play it on easy. If I do end up getting the PC version at some point, I'll probably go that route so I can potentially beat it.

Yeah, DP is not meant to be "played" really rather than experienced.

That's how I enjoy it.

The combat parts just bore me to tears. And this is from somebody who 70% of the time prefers narrative over gameplay... so imagine when the gameplay is awful and the combat is just as bad xD

It succeeded in its goal.

Saving Anime....I guess...

I dunno. It might've. I don't even know what that means.

Whatever it means, Trigger needs to do it again soon.

Not adapt some whatever light novel.

This thread was at its peak during the KlK days.

All anybody had to do was post a gif and it was awesome.

This one's for you, Clones
