HOPEfully.

Don't get your hopes up tho'

It's been years since Roberta's OVAs.

Guess what makes money and all.

Which begs the question

Was Black Lagoon popular in Japan?

I'm sure Black Lagoon was considered to be to westernized( is that the correct term ) to be really successful in Japan. Or, I'm a idiot and shouldn't engage in empty speculation lol.

Dunno.

AoT is pretty f-cking German and it's even beaten One Piece in sales once.

That's like... winning Mr.Bolt in a sprinting contest.

Cowboy Bebop wasn't popular in Japan according to Geth.

That's why I'm asking.

But I suppose BL has to be if it can go 1 year on hiatus.

It could just survive on it's western audience. That's happens sometimes.

Gotta ask Geth.

He knows these things.

Maybe Puddi too.

But Puddi doesn't talk :-(

I want it to be Friday again.

Might rewatch

Soon

I hope so. I'm to simple minded to understand all these insanely complex anime storylines that go in twenty different directions( haha, but seriously I'm not joking ). I love Black Lagoon and would happily buy BL merchandise to support the creators/studio If it meant I could get another season.

Okay.

This is stupid.

But can I read Part 4 of JoJo without Stardust Spoilers?

This thread goes so fast that I can't keep up with it.

Does anyone else feel that the new anime this season and over the last year has been pretty mediocre?

I often feel like I need a time machine to keep up with this thread.

Nah.

There have been good and bad anime over the last year and I'm pretty sure that that will be the case for the next year as well.

Haven't really watched new season anime except for UBW and JoJo.

Both have been excellent 10/10 stuff.

As for the other anime... gotta ask bro and the rest for their opinion.

There has been no new 10/10 quality anime (admittedly I haven't watched some popular stuff yet like Zankyou no terror, Gekkan shoujo nozaki kun, 7 deadly sins or Shingeki no bahamut) but there has been a fair share of 7 to 8 out of 10 animes.

There are a lot with tons of potential but needing a second or even third season. No game no life and Nanana's buried treasure being good examples. There have been a fair few high quality sequels though like Log horizon and Mushishi.

Forgot about Nozaki-kun and Zankyou no Terror!

How could I?

><

Though JoJo is defo 10/10 anime.

Can't argue about that.

It's perfect with every episode

Nanana's buried treasure was great. I absolutely loved it.

I loved it too but it didn't really go anywhere. The end just felt like it was truly beginning. Tensai the female Professor Layton/ Phoenix Wright certainly helped though.

I know this sounds silly, but I liked that it didn't have any real direction( does that make sense? ).

Oh I liked that too. That's part of it's charm. What I meant was that the ending was very "watch the sequel if you want the answers" ending. There are loads of loose ends.

I'd say it depends a lot on what one has watched. Last summer I really managed to miss the true gems of the season except Zankyou. I missed Gekkan and Barakamon both which are absolutely amazing and with Barakamon being my favorite SoL up to date. There are a few shows that are going to get wrapped up in a few weeks that I really want to give a shot like "Your lie in April" and Kiseijuu

There have been plenty of really good shows, just don't miss them  ;)

I have heard stupidly good things about that one. Be sure to tell me about it when you watch it.

Will do! It's likely the first show I'll watch and I really hope it's living up to what I'm hearing because as you say.. stupidly good things are being sad and if true I'd be overjoyed

The guys at Podtaku seemed to not be very impressed with what's come out recently.

I guess I'm seeing the past with rose coloured glasses a bit. I haven't been into anime for all that long (about four years) and have spent a lot of time watching all that I've missed out on before (a friend let me borrow from his collection). Naturally, I only watched stuff which looked interesting to me. So I was watching all the awesome stuff from the last 20 years or so, and it now seems like I have to wait a long time for anything really good to show up.

There's definitely been some solid 7/10's over the last year, but nothing that made me feel that special "I need more of this in my life" feeling. It doesn't help that the high school setting is generally a turn off for me, but at least the overwhelming fanservice has calmed down a bit. I want to see more adult orientated anime. I know the biggest demographic watching anime is high school kids, but the people who got into anime in the 80's and 90's are in their 30's and 40's now. There's got to be a pretty good base for more 'mature' shows.

I'd give Zankyo no terror as an example, it was a good show, but it had so much more potential.

Well what have you watched? I'm sure the guys in here can chuck a few recommendations your way. There is bound to be some great stuff out there you passed up.

Like Barakamon. And Mushishi Zoku Shou. Although when it comes to Mushishi, you should probably start with the first part.
