Heard that the action scenes were solid, and from the little I saw while my brother watched, looked rather nice to me.

 

Then again, I saw little so what do I know.

It's decently animated yeah.

It looks pretty, the action sequences are good, the soundtrack is pretty cool, there are 5 good characters. That's about it really. I guess the first and last arc were pretty decent too but there is way too much crap in between.

But here's a little story that makes me snicker: Months ago, my brother in law was like "Ani, have you watched a series called SAO?" and I was like "No but it has a super split watcher base from what I gather." So he gushed for a while about how great it is and the back of my mind was all like "Ohhhh boy, if the group could hear this conversation..." The other night I decided to follow it up and ask if he's watched more and he said no, he had just binged the first 13 episodes and hasn't sat down to watch more. That's when I had to internally burst out laughing since I know you guys warn people of stopping at 14. *That's* probably why it was so good, cause he hadn't hit what I understand to be the massive nosedive. I mean I say that without watching a single episode myself but even Vroom's reaction kind of leads me to think it truly does slip right into ugh territory.

 

I still have a group of friends trying desperately to get me to watch it though, so I'm just stuck in this flux of "Do I even want to put time into this if it becomes some colossal bleh later?"

 

On the note to good things, I watched the first OVA of Roberta's Blood Trail this morning. I can already tell this is going to be fun~

Aincrad arc is pretty decent, if not outright good in some aspects. Fairytail arc doesn't exist. Ballet of Bullets is allright, but holy cow Kirito-Sue, Mother's Rosario is pretty decent again.

I bet my brother finds Satsuki's eyebrows funny, because when I was playing Guilty Gear Xrd, I showed him this one character using a finishing move on the opponent that involves facial surgery, and one of the new faces has large eyebrows. He busted out laughing when he saw it for the first time.

Speaking of Xrd, I finished the story mode, if that counts as an anime series. Lol. The story is in the style of a visual novel. It was ok. I really should look at more anime myself later. Ha ha ha. XD

But he has also watched stuff like Attack on Titan, Fate/Zero and such.

Anyhow, since we are on about our siblings / relatives and how silly they are, my brother had a rather amusing comment about the F/SN VN that I was reading back in December-January.

Me: "Basically a novel, but with visuals and music in it."

I must admit, I couldn't help but chuckle at the comparison a little.
