I'm going to go ahead and try to calm my eyes from twitching out of my skull from Angel's picture and move on... X3
But here's a little story that makes me snicker: Months ago, my brother in law was like "Ani, have you watched a series called SAO?" and I was like "No but it has a super split watcher base from what I gather." So he gushed for a while about how great it is and the back of my mind was all like "Ohhhh boy, if the group could hear this conversation..." The other night I decided to follow it up and ask if he's watched more and he said no, he had just binged the first 13 episodes and hasn't sat down to watch more. That's when I had to internally burst out laughing since I know you guys warn people of stopping at 14. *That's* probably why it was so good, cause he hadn't hit what I understand to be the massive nosedive.
I mean I say that without watching a single episode myself but even Vroom's reaction kind of leads me to think it truly does slip right into ugh territory.
I still have a group of friends trying desperately to get me to watch it though, so I'm just stuck in this flux of "Do I even want to put time into this if it becomes some colossal bleh later?"
On the note to good things, I watched the first OVA of Roberta's Blood Trail this morning. I can already tell this is going to be fun~
It's funny because Episode 14 has ending credits even though it isn't the end of Season 1. It's as if the people that made the anime were saying "stop here".
That said, I didn't mind the fairies, I actually think fairies are a neat concept (don't judge me!) and I also didn't mind the incest overtones either (DON'T JUDGE ME!) because Oreimo made me come to terms with that being a thing. Although, I'd say that the incestial thoughts going on in the anime was just more of a character being confused and trying to figure out love and the different kinds there are, she was young after all. Perhaps I'm not all that bothered by it because I don't have any siblings and will never have to deal with any such possibility of having incestial thoughts, but I digress.
The thing that bothered me was how f***** the villain was and the two scenes that nearly crossed the line to being rape. Also the plot didn't make much sense
Hi! Practically an Anime Virgin here just popping in briefly with a simple question (I think), I've got a DVD of the first several episodes of Full Metal Alchemist which I have yet to watch, and I've recently noticed that Attack on Titan is on Netflix. Both have been repeatedly recommended/talked about to me, and since I've finally finished some other shows I've been watching I'm thinking of finally delving into Anime (of which my experience is limited to a couple Anime movies) ....which would you (anyone) recommend I start with? Full Metal Alchemist or Attack on Titan? I'll watch both eventually, but trying to decide which one to watch first is giving me head pains so I'm looking for some insight from Anime aficionados
Welcome!
I'd give you a recommendation, but I don't have any experience with either of those anime. I've heard both are great, you might go with Attack on Titan first because it's shorter, if I recall correctly. Also, Attack on Titan might not always be on Netflix, but you'll always have your DVD's.
