Only anime series that has a complete story I've seen is iDOLM@STER.

 

Not because I love it, and think people should watch it.

 

But every character gets their time in the limelight, with full arcs and such, leading up to a satisfying conclusion, and epilogue in the form of the Movie.

 

Unless I missed what this conversation is about.

 

Maybe watching nothing but DBZ for the past 2 days is taking a bigger toll on me than expected.

Hi Rah, any slice of life you would recommend? I'm currently watching Silver Spoon and I'm going to start K-On.

 

Barakamon is probably the best SoL I've seen to date. If you want to watch a very slow paced and relaxing SoL then you could always give Aria the animation a chance. Watched it myself last week and it was alright and I hear the season after it are all better so will give it a look later down the line

Called it, Ultra Marines. Not a bad chapter, I like how much they strive to be a symbol for the citizens of the Imperium. Me I'm loyal to Russ and the Space Wolves.

 

If I really had to pick a favorite...hmm.. a toss between Grey Knights, Dark Angels, Salamanders and Ultras.

Ok, review time( hope you enjoy ) I'm four( Six episodes now )episodes into Silver Spoon a two season series with twelve episodes per season. I was a little hesitant to start it but, I decided not to judge a book by its cover( so to speak ) and give it a chance. And I'm glad I did, admittedly I'm not far into the first season but, I can't help but see it's potential.


A short description of Silver Spoon

Animation: 7/10 Silver Spoon has a nice palette of colors but, many of the side characters receive less attention to their appearance/animation when compared to the leading cast/crew.

Story & Characters: So far, I easily give it 9/10. While the story might seem simple to some. I can't help but enjoy it, there's so many little details that add to it. The characters, setting and many of the lessons the protagonist learns or struggles with makes the story feel alive( if that makes sense ) and meaningful. Everyone seems to have a story arc( goals to achieve ) and they all contribute to the story in their own little ways.

Overall, I enjoy the show. It has humor, good characters( and character growth ), heart warming moments for dem feels and decent animation. Overall I give the series a 9/10.

But he let Goku do that.

 

Hell with his dying words that was all he asked of Goku.

 

To honor and avenge their people.

 

That's like the best written moment in the series.

One of the things that puts me off DBZ, or to be exact, from ever watching it are the fights.

 

I keep on seeing Vegeta vs whatever on youtube and they are frickin' ONE HOUR LONG.

 

Then I get horrible flashbacks of that time my buddy showed me one of his "awesome" Bleach fights where I fell asleep by just how boring it was.

 

The fight was around 10 minutes of exchanging blows and 30 of talking.

 

You know me, I love my dialogue, but please, in the right time and in the right place.

 

So if I'm gonna watch a series for its action I'll be watching stuff like Naruto, which isn't as good as DBZ but damn has it got some great fights.

 

F*ck, Gintama probably has better action, one of my favourites fights of all time comes from it.

 

And no

 

Not this one

 

 

It's not as flashy but god is the impact of that fight four times as powerful. Everything surrounding it is perfect, the atmosphere, the music, the context and the emotions. You'll see Gintoki for the first time (and the last so far) in the series actually pissed off, like... SUPER pissed.

 

You know what the best part of that fight is?

 

He loses.

 

Seriously dudes, Gintama has some sick-ass action, better than all the shounen I've seen.

 

But probably not as cool-looking as Naruto when it wants to put its budget up.

 

I'll probs end up watching it anyway because I know there's a ton of good stuff about it and it's cool seeing characters grow and develop relationships etc...

 

But I'll never watch DBZ for action unless that 1 hour of fighting = 40 minutes of action and 20 minutes of typical talking.

Blame Toei anime pacing on that.

 

Tho as far as the actual fights go.

 

Most of the time the actual animation and action was pretty damn good.

 

Even movie level at times.

 

Toei can be really good when they want to be good, and have the budget.
