Blame Toei anime pacing on that.
Tho as far as the actual fights go.
Most of the time the actual animation and action was pretty damn good.
Even movie level at times.
Toei can be really good when they want to be good, and have the budget.
Yeah I've seen the good parts and their good.
But couldn't keep with 3 episodes of stuff for just a small taste of the good stuff.
Might just wait for Kai 2014 to be done or just watch the normal Kai.
Unless not even that is fixed in Kai.

One of the things that puts me off DBZ, or to be exact, from ever watching it are the fights.
Sure, the show suffered from some dragged out fights, but were quite solid actually considering its time and the scope of the series. Looking back at some YT vids, I'm surprised how good many of the fights were.
Still though, never completely watched the anime since I preferred the manga version. Been several years since I last read them, but back then I found that the fights were spectacular as hell, especially the very early ones when the focus lied on choreography rather than power levels (but certain later ones were great as well).

Kai ending up having a lot of the same pacing problems.
I am still waiting for around 2030 when they actually remake Dragon Ball.
To have a perfect anime version as far as pacing goes.
Also it should actually start from the start of the manga.

I say you watch the Original Dragon Ball series. Tian, Yamcha and Master Roshi all kick ass with good fighting scenes and Piccolo is evil! Also funnier moments.

God knows what crappy-ass context the whole fight is based off.
But daaayuum.
To be perfectly honest, so far where I am in Shippuden... it's OKAY. I mean, the series has its moments but is ruined but stupid-ass crap.
Seriously, how many times is "destroying the Leaf Village" going to be a thing?
But yeah, the series has some great choreography, which is what I usually want in a fight.

They should have Vegeta be the one to defeat Frieza this time around. Would be kinda fitting.
Of course, never gonna happen. DBZ is rather conventional.
Its heavily hinted at though in the Battle of Gods movie.
My biggest hope for the movie though is for Bardock to make an appearance again.

I've reread, replayed, rewatched most of the story arcs through so many times already that I basically know the whole DB and DBZ plot by the book. Maybe after a couple of years I might do a complete anime watch though.

Like I said, I've seen the good parts and they're good.

What I said up there is me putting my foot in my mouth because I just had horrible back flashes of Bleach and said "noooo way am I'm going to sit through three episodes of a fight."
I fall asleep with these things y'know.

But, I feel like I'm finally getting it. Before this if the anime didn't have splosions, mechs and well endowed lady's I would of just written it of as lame( like Eva, I hated on that for so long when it was actually a amazing series ).
