No, it's not actually.

Extreeme scores have seldom any groundings in reality.

I think you're under the false impression that your idea of a rating system is inherently more objective than others'. There's no such thing as an objective rating system, it always will depend on whatever arbitrary selection of criteria you choose to apply. You can try to be objective in applying those criteria and try to apply the same criteria consistently across like media, but you're not really special just for doing that. That's what most of us try to do.

One Piece and HxH both get 10 out of 10 if you just go by shonen manga.

Only by blinded fanboys.

No, blinded fanboys would think they are the best manga series ever.

And it is not like you read manga anyway.

No matter. "Nothing should receive the score of 10".

Again, I find having the score then pointless, and you Soronnar to be too much of a preacher idealist.

Oh I read the newest Naruto chapter... Are you kidding me?

Neji's death will no doubt be mourned by thousands of weeping sheep, but as for those of us who once loved this serious, this is f**king bullsh!t. Neji is like, a major supporting character(or well he should be) getting an extra's death. There's no buildup, no stakes, no foreshadowing, and subsequently, no emotion.

Hard for the author to get emotional or care when he blatantly sets up the resurrection beforehand in the same chapter.

This is even worse than when Pain did it, because at the time we didn't know that cop out was even available on the scale it was used. But this time? He's just gonna go down the exact same road Pain did.

He's practically delivering the same speeches and everything.

To this day I STILL think he had actually planned to have Choji and Neji die during that old arc, the storytelling and symbolism and intent were too strong, and the saving revivial too cheap, unforeshadowed and last second. That he'd planned to kill them and show off some stakes and gravitas, and then was told he couldn't let the 12 year olds bite it. Thats when the entire tone of the series changed and he stopped caring.

And the highest possible score isn't actually saying that?
The highest score I gave any shonen is 8.. and I still think it may have been too high.

And it is not like you read manga anyway.

Sez who?

If you knew how to read, you would know I said "One Piece and HxH both get 10 out of 10 if you just go by shonen manga."

Tho if I go by all manga One Piece is most likely a 7 or an 8. HxH is a 9.

@Somegeth, lol just watch, everyone will be brought back to life. Minus the bad people.

Also lulz Tobi Is Obito. I win. Well versus someone not from this forum at least.

On the Manga front not much I care to read after Black Lagoon jumped the tracks into the river. There are a few things I keep an eye on, but not much.

On the Anime front on to S2 of Darker than Black, think I'll watch gunslinger girl or madlax next. Dunno if I'll like either, but meh give em a shot I will.

So yeah, a friend of mine let me borrow one of his books.

It's... Well, I don't even remember what it's called now. It talks about porn a lot though. Kinda silly.

Well I just finished up Darker than Black and I have to say, The first was pretty good, enjoyed it mostly. I can say alot of good things about it, very few bad. So likely when I see a DVD edition for it at a good price I'll snatch it up. Now the 2nd part...I'm a bit split with.

Mostly its lesser, like the power lose, the mismatched politics going on, how the story fails in parts, and just how OLD the hero looks in just two years, are some iffy spots. Though I do like some of the character interactions, and the general flow of events, while short, the final eps were the best easily. I could not consider buying it unless it came with the First. Overall I'ld say its not that bad. But its not that good, and feels rushed in parts. I really wished the Russians played a bigger role, or the "Great War" that happend after the Tokyo event was brought up into detail.

So Ehh I guess I'll move onto whats next in my list.

Yeah I'm sure a lot of people look older when they stop giving a s*** about their appearance.

After rewatching Macross Plus i have to say that it's an underrated entry in the franchise in terms of plot, characters, and soundtrack, plus now Ace Combat: Electrosphere eerily reminds me of the former.

Headin' home for the first time since summer vacation tomorrow. Since I'll have decent internet again, I'll be doing a lot of catching up. My brother's probably gonna make me watch Berserk, and then I have a few other series I need to catch up on.

Oh, and that manga was Genshiken. It's super creepy sometimes, but I like the art quite a bit, and it has some funny moments. I'm not planning on buying it for myself though. I think 3 volumes will be all I can handle.

Has anyone here seen the Steins;Gate anime?

If so, it's one of those rare few series that I highly recommend. For those that don't know it, it's about time-travel, and that's really about everything I can say without spoiling too much (pretty much everything I knew before going in as well). Still, you won't often come across a story this meticulously crafted, with this distinct feeling of purpose to most everything in it; everyone and everything is there for a purpose, and the story surprisingly enough doesn't mess up at any single point with all the timetraveling going on over the course of its 24 episodes.

Also, and this probably doesn't need specific mentioning for most of you, but do watch it in Japanese. If only for the main character, who's voiced by Light's VA and fancies himself to be some kind of melodramatic magnificent bastard á la Lelouch.

Somebody has good taste in anime. I agree Steins;Gate is better watched in Japanese. Ruka and Mayuri's English VAs especially just don't fit. I was gonna watch Robotic;Notes when I had finished Steins;Gate but somebody said it's not as good so I held off on it. I'll get around to it eventually.

Beautiful. All that's needed now is for Muira to ease up on Idolm@ster, and finish the story before he's gets too old to continue it.
