Fate DEEN got the honour being one of 3 shows that I've dropped because I found it so unbearable to watch that even I couldn't convince myself to waste that time.

 

While I see and understand why others think otherwise that's not in any shape going to stop me from considering it a very bad anime

 

But doesn't that make it a bit prejudiced, since you haven't actually seen it completely to make a fair assessment?

 

I mean, I dropped Sinsekai Yori, but I am not in a position to judge it other than on a "first impressions" level.

If it doesn't manage to entertain me enough to see the rest then it's not done what it was mean to do.. this thing called entertain.

 

If you'd say SSY was bad that's your right to do so and I'd disagree just as I do with you now about Fate. Don't see why that's so remarkably hard to understand

I initially dropped in here for a very, very brief time around Kill la Kill's episode....18, I think? Although, I really started up in here during the summer.

I mean, you can judge it as a adaptation, but one should strive to do it from a POV that you are experiencing it for the first time.

Hey, LOTR trilogy is excellent, yet deviates from the Böök completely. Yet few are complaining, since the trilogy is excellent on its own.

It's not about not wanting to continue watching something, but labeling it as bad without having experienced it completely. It is one thing not liking it and having the motivation to continue to watch, and another to watch a few episodes and proclaim it as bad. That's what I am getting at.

I can't make a fair assessment on SSY, since I don't know how the story unfolds, how the characters develop, how or what themes come into play, etc. Since I don't know these, I can't judge the show on a whole. That is what I am getting at here, and I was left confused since you only saw first 3 episodes of Deen's version and concluded that it is bad.

Then I must apologize for the confusion, since I was under the impression when you stated "that's not in any shape going to stop me from considering it a very bad anime", I assumed you judged it as a whole despite having dropped it.

 

And apologize again for the "3 episodes comment". I read through your post too quickly add took the "3 shows" as "3 episodes". Well I am already past my sleeping hours, so gonna head to bed before I get too groggy.

Sim: I'm already going to be dividing my brain power between Isi and you once that point hits and I pretty much planned that I'd work some form of a novel for Chewin too here so needless to say, there's going to be a lot of distilled books. But when that time comes, I'll obviously check with you first before wall of texting you. As much as I love me some mental stimulation, I'm not about to overwhelm folks with all my words when they aren't in the mood for it.

Just have to get my brain to cooperate again. A steady dose of stress doesn't quite lend itself to giving me the brain power the series deserves, if that makes sense at all.

We can debate about FSN because the Fate route really wasn't that great but when it comes to VN adaptations in general I have to disagree.

 

I get your example from LOTR but I haven't actually seen a lot of anime succeed at doing what LOTR did.

 

I disagree that VN readers should experience something as if they are watching it for the first time. People who have read the VN can see what the anime does right and it does wrong.

 

Just as an example; I've recently watched an anime VN adaptation where they turned a bad ending in a good ending even thought there were good reasons for that bad ending to be a bad ending in the VN.

 

The same goes for manga or LN's that get anime adaptations. I myself haven't watched Akame Ga Kill but I was here in this thread when I saw people complaining about the anime and how the manga is a lot better.
