Started Reading Sanctuary

Sanctuary%20AnimeFront.jpg

It's about Yakuza, so I'll be listening to L.A. Noire music while reading

So... the reference with this Leonardo guy is pretty obvious...

Except why is he a frog?

They probably did it so that it could be both a TMNT and Battletoads reference.

And with that I have finished both seasons of Silver Spoon. Honestly, it is probably one of my favourite series so far. I really enjoyed it. The story was well written, and allowed for good character growth. Conflict and drama were achieved not through student rivalries, but through the difficulties of their education and what was expected of them.

The series had plenty of great humor and several tear worthy moments. I'm excited for the genre( something I didn't really think was possible, I mean no aliens, explosions... that's lame ) but it was great. I would love some recommendations for Slice of life.

Oh, yes I almost forgot. All future recommendations from Geth will promptly be dismissed and thrown from the airlock.

WataMote (My favorite Anime), Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of High School Boys), Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (don't know if you'd consider it Slice of Life or not), K-On!. All of these anime are realistic and all of them are great. I posted them in the order I would recommend them, I don't really watch a lot of SoL tho.

Non Non Biyori and Barakamon are both also "rural" slice of life anime like Silver Spoon.

Remember, I'm totally trustworthy.

K-on-season-1-Don-t-say-lazy-and-k-on-se

I finished K-On! a few hours ago and immediately began watching My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. I got all the way up to episode 10, but my internet connection is going bonkers and I'm getting a slide-show that isn't synced with the audio, so I decided to call it a night and just do a quick review of K-On!.

So, K-On! is about 4 high school girls (later 5) who form a band and while a fair share of the episodes are centered around the music, some aren't, which kept the show fresh for me. One really interesting design choice to me was the lack of male characters, there are no main male characters and I didn't notice the first male character until episode 5. Not a bad thing, I just found it to be interesting. The art was simple and the music was good, I felt that both complimented the show greatly. I liked all of the characters, I never hated or felt annoyed with any of the characters.

The characters don't experience any significant development throughout the series, but I say that's okay, because they aren't faced with anything that forces them to change or question their beliefs. It also takes place over a few months, it isn't like K-On! takes place over a period of years. The show was funny at times, but for the most part it just stuck to telling the story that it had to tell, it knew what its purpose was. At the core the show is really about a group of teenage girls having a fantastic time together.

I really liked the simplicity and delivery of K-On!.

I went in with tempered expectations based upon the art style and the show surpassed them.

I'd give it an 8 out 10/4 out 5.

I should probably write a review after I'm finished DBZ...

Shouldn't I?

Yeah and it should be like, 20 times longer than my review of K-On! since K-On! is only 13 episodes long and DBZ is over 200 (unfortunately not over 9,000).  :P

I'll probably break it down by Sagas, Specials, and finally, Battle of Gods.

Rating them all seperately, and then concluding with the series as a whole.

I like this (I've been out of likes for a long time now) and I think it is a great idea.

Just don't push yourself too hard, that's a lot to rate and write if you don't feel up to it.

I was just giving you a hard time about it having to be 20x as long.

No worries.

I won't push myself too hard. I know my limits.
Granted this marathon is pushing the limit. But I've been pacing myself fairly well.

The only good things about Cell were Norio Wakamoto and his design.

Other than that he blows.

There that's my review of the character of Cell.

That was a lot of work.

Cell saga was better paced.
And wasn't taking place on a barren empty rock.
