I will now start DBZ cuz, hey why the **** not? I figure I'll get like five episodes into DBZ before I go running back to Gintama.
Fine. Watch 'Dragon Ball: Goku the Kid series' first. It's quite likeable and interesting how the DBZ characters grow and develop.
I'm watching Samurai 7 right now. It's kinda like Gintama mixed with Samurai Jack (not as much humor though).
