Pretty mild by Japanese standards.

Spoiler

I actually remember that one.

Still doesn't make it more pleasant to look at.

I should also try to post something equally weird

It's Glyceride, made by Itou Junji.

Ok.

He also did Uzumaki. Which is why I recognized his art style.

Spoiler

Spirals are scary.

I could have sworn there was an anime coming out in the middle of March that seemed interesting, but nope, can't find it.

Unless it was these Kyoukai no Kanata movies.

But if Psycho-Pass is any indication, when they come out in Japan means absolutely nothing for when they'll be subbed.

Oh so no one wants to talk about Uzumaki?

Ok...

The ending sucked anyway.  :(

Ahh Uzumaki. Fun times with spirals. I binged that one years ago when I was super sleep deprived and I think it kind of engrained itself into my subconscious.

I completely agree with you about the ending too. @_@ Itou's style is pretty amazing IMHO, though I haven't read anything beyond Uzumaki and The Enigma of Amigara Fault.

I'm not big on endings where

Spoiler

The art was definitely a big draw for me. It's great.

Also it's a cosmic horror story, and I love that type of thing.

Lovecraft takes up a fairly big chunk of my bookself.

I get you, I'm sure you've seen my blahblahblah about cosmic horror having a super special place in my heart as well. That's pretty much what originally drew me in to Uzumaki to begin with. I had seen pages posted on a forum I used to go to, and my cosmic horror senses started tingling. :P

It helps that I was high as a kite too. Whoops.

I can only stand body horror to a certain extent.

Samurai-7-anime-31774445-800-600.png

Finally finished Samurai 7. Now I'm sad and a little :crying:, cuz it was so good and tragic ...

The story was great but unoriginal (it was Akira Kurosawa's anyway) and the characters were solid and likeable. Kirara, Shimada Kambei, Hayashida Heihachi, Katayama Gorobei were my favorites.

The anime did a very good job transforming Seven Samurai to this series that has this Futuristic-Mecha dystopia theme (kinda similar to a mixture of Samurai Jack and Gundam?)

The animation is good most of the time. Sometimes it gets very lazy though.

8/10 (would be 9/10 if it was Original)

Recommended.

Despite what I just said, I'm looking forward to this. Though netflix means dealing with more fansubs, yay.

Given how much I'm liking it, I probably will read it. Been a while since I've read manga too but I feel like picking up an old hobby of mine.

Another favorite character of mine is Dr. Franken Stein. So sadistic I love it.

MYLPKSU.gif

*inb4 my partner leaves me because I'm secretly openly an anime freak*

Yeah, Stein is great <3

And good.

Anime is great.

It has a kissing scene that isn't particularly fanservicy.

It's funny (and stupid, and annoying) because a lot of people got upset over it. I've heard several people comment they felt they should have been warned that it would happen beforehand so I often like to joke around by saying the episode should begin with:

WARNING: the following episode contains copious amounts of gay. Watch at your own risk/pleasure

Personally I think it's a completely ludicrous complaint. As if people need to be warned X3 I've never heard that kind of bitching over straight couples.

All in all it's a fantastic anime though. One of my all time favorites.

Ugh.

It's just a kiss.

Obviously it'll be "hot" but it can't be helped.

Better an honest-to-god kiss than some slapstick chu

That's what couples do.

But f*ck.

Warnings? Blegh.

Stupid stupid people.

More stupid than me.

That's a feat.

I actually remember that one.

Still doesn't make it more pleasant to look at.

I should also try to post something equally weird

Spoiler

I've read Uzumaki and Franken Fran

I'm immune to this stuff.

My brother recommended this to me YEARS ago when I was positive he actually watched anime. Should've gave it a chance when it was on Toonami like a year ago or whenever recently.

Just finished HxH a few hours ago

God that was great, too bad the first half isn't as good as the second.

But it doesn't matter, it's not like the first half was bad, but a lot of it is overshadowed by the Ant Arc.

Also

F*ck you at showing me the holding hands.

WEHOEwz.gif

I did not need that on top of my overwhelming sentimentality watching this story develop for 148 episodes just end like that.

Well sh*t

Looks like I might have found my 5

See ya HxH, what a waste of a mangaka seriously.

So yeah.

Watch HxH 2011 for great shounen.

Jeez

Next up?

Log Horizon Season 2.
