Well it is Japan.

 

They don't even have Unions by the looks of it.

It has less to do about Unions and more to do with what's expected out of you.

 

They work 10-14 hours a day for 6 day weeks, and are expected to spend their nights going to bars with their co-workers (Because hey, you isolate yourself. Maybe you're not committed enough to the company, and that could be the thing that gets you laid-off).

That's the reason Dating Sims do so well. Since 13 hours, plus socializing with co-workers, and a proper sleep schedule, there's no time to meet and go out with girls.

 

And Japan wonders why their birthrate is so damn low.

It's due to a fundamental problem in their culture. People being pressured to devote 95% of their time to the job.

 

Doesn't take a psychologist to figure this out. But it is a depressing thing to think about.
