I prefer black (dark brown, cause black hair technically isn't real, unlike Texas) hair the most as with real life. I used to be really big into orange and red back in the day, but after I hit 18, I just got to where I preferred black. Purple is pretty neat in anime tho.

I grew up with the idea that anime girls always have pink hair and boys can have blue hair sometime.

When it comes to anime hair colors, I consider myself to be in the purple camp.

Blue eyes and light color hairs were the property of North and Central European people 6000 years ago. Then slowly they immigrated to Iran, Greece, Italy etc. and expanded their genes (in majority or minority).

 

That Aryan blood hardly reached western border of China. For Japan this never happened. So simply the majority (99%) of the Japanese have black/brown eyes and black hair. Even if any exception can be found he/she must have an immigrant parent or ancestor to Japan come after WW2.
