Regardless of what it is, expecting an adaptation to be accurate is just setting yourself up for disappointment. It's just not going to happen except for a few rare cases.

For some reason, I can't get over that image of Caster reaching towards the sky. That was such a poignant moment in the trailer, and I am struggling to figure out why it resonated so deeply with me.

 

Same. For me it showed a more softer, human side to her with that little gesture. Next season will be interesting for sure and can't wait what kind of revelations it has in store.

I'm taking into consideration that Saber got a lot of attention in Zero and her character arc never really ended and never had a chance to grow from what she learnt. It's mostly for continuity reasons, and since you have to go through SN to even understand Saber and what she's about then there'll obviously be a problem if her arc ends as abruptly as the VN's.

 

I'm still in favour for True, but just add that little bit more so it can wrap up neatly. Even a 2 second flashback from Lancelot and an image of "The Hill" before she finally accepts is a major improvement.

 

Of course, no matter what you do sabaaaaa fanbois will be saaabbaaa fanbois and won't be happy until she's x, y and z.

 

But who cares about them.

 

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I have no clue what the two endings are about, so all I care about is that they deliver a satisfying conclusion that brings the narrative into a resolution.  

 

But we'll eventually see in a few months.

I mean, are there really any adaptations that are 100% to the source material? I can understand the frustration, believe me I share the sentiment, but I stopped long ago believing that when you adapt something that you will get everything--it simply doesn't work.

You will see some of her backstory for her in the second season. Really even though she gives off a evil aura, she's really a sweetheart beneath it all. She's just very pragmatic and cold, a proper magus who only shows her softer side with her sama.

Even more so for a VN. I can understand why certain changes needs to be made, since as a TV show, you have to make it stand on its own. Ufotable knows this, and certain changes have made the show stronger for it.

 

Except for those few ones that House have pointed out. No clue what they were smoking during those incidents.

It has less to do with wanting a 100% adaption and wanting a good adaption without the massive amount of Saberwanking Takeuchi loves to shove down peoples throats.

Age has obviously affected you deeply if that's the case. I was one of the first in the thread to notice that, well behind the ones with VN experience prior.

But rest assured that I wont hold your slow mind against you in this case

I don't see House asking for a 100% true to material adaptation anywere. Pointing out differences and disagreeing with them however I do see
