Anyway.
Been watching Mushishi religiously and finished it.
Like I said before, it's a very good show with an episodic format. A story can be tragic, heart-warming, bitter-sweet but all of them come with their messages, themes and sometimes philosophical depth.
But I guess anything that talks about life will merit philosophical value, intentional or not.
Only major weakness is the very likeable main character. It's sort of a Poirot thing but without the greats like "The Orient Express" and "Death in the Nile." Those mysteries in where it really challenged the values Poirot held so dear.
You can say a lot about Ginko from the 30+ episodes you know him, but it's all skin deep. I wish they explored his character far more than what it did.
Going to finish it off with the manga.
Hopefully it'll wrap up Ginko quite nicely.
Can't really wait until May 2015 for the last arc to be animated.
P.S
Most important thing about it is that it isn't pretentious. I can't stress this enough, it's also a seinen show that doesn't need to relish in shock value/stupid 'seriousness' in order to be a mature show.
Anyone can watch it really.

Edward is for sure a compelling protagonist. Would easily fall into my top 10 list. And at this point I have almost respect for everyone in the series.

Two episodes were plenty for his past.
But yeah.
Nothing really hits him hard.
Loved the Rebirth episode were he almost died and asked himself if he would live again and he said "nah, that would be a joke." That's what I'm looking for.
Perhaps the whole reason is for him to be exactly like that.
Also
F*ck Mushishi and breaking up my Ships.
I shipped him so hard with Tanyu it hurt.
