I refuse to buy aniplex stuff. I do have the Fate/materiel books, figures and other cool stuff tho.
But aniplex blue rays? Screw that. They can rip off someone else.
LOOK AT THIS SEXY SOB. LOOK AT HIM!!!!!!

*sigh I still wish Rin got Lancer.....
The Gurren Lagann Blu-Rays are a little too expensive...I refuse to buy aniplex stuff. I do have the Fate/materiel books, figures and other cool stuff tho.

Jojo is great. It's right up there with Gintama and FMA:Brotherhood on my bestes anime list.Season 1 of Jojo down! God I'm loving this show.

This is a Ufotable mistake as projection magic is mentioned very very very early in the vN, it is the first magic he succeed at . It never came out of nowhere in the VN and it's even further detailed on why Trace On is extremely powerful and why he even has it in the first place. If you want to know hwy since I doubt UBW will explain it. In the VN you know Shirous projection was not normal so when he uses it fort he first time to create an extremely powerful weapon in the Fate route, you go HOLY SHIIIIIT! It was heavily forshadowed that projection is something that would become Shirous main offensive and Udftoble did a poor job forshadowing it.
Spoiler
Did anyone read my second paragraph at all? Had to restate it trice now ![]()
I do agree that Ufotable does quite a superficial job when it comes to introducing the magical workings of the world with certain aspects (e.g. the whole magical projection around the house is never explained, to my understanding). Though when it comes to Shirou's projection abilities, I found they did adequately enough within the framework of the story. They introduced the concept of it, took up that Shirou can use it, and he had been practicing it in his shed. If these hadn't been taken up, and instead had Shirou just out of nowhere pull the projection ability, then it would have been BS.
But correct me if I am wrong, isn't Avalon displayed loosely in Ep 1 of UBW, no? No clue how UBW as a whole showcases this, but I can see it coming full circle just fine.

It's mentioned, but the true details of it only happen in the fate route, it still does play a part in UBW tho. In HF though it's pretty much useless(hence why HF has so many dead ends
)
Another owner of the Zero Blu Ray collection!
*high five*
I don't have it yet but it should be here in 2 days or so
SO HERE GOES!

I refuse to buy aniplex stuff. I do have the Fate/materiel books, figures and other cool stuff tho.

I agree that their prices are WAY TOO HIGH.
Wasn't the FZ release price also really high?
And I also remember the Kara No Kyoukai movies being very pricy.
Speaking of Aniplex and their prices, I remember when the LE Rebellion set got its price announced and pretty much everyone was like "Well ****, time to sell my kidneys."
I've always preferred sets over singles though, especially back when you'd pay around $20+ for dvds that came with just two episodes. @_@
Back when I was working to collect ROD the TV's set, it was painful. There's this beautiful boxset but its super rare and insanely expensive. I kind of want to go through the series and OVAs again personally. The dub was rather fab and that's all I had previously ever watched but then I found out voice waifu is one of the main cast in the original version, sooo my eventual rewatch will more than likely be subbed. Though it *is* amusing cause while the Japanese version has Chiwa, the dub has Bayonetta's VA. Ahh choices. X3
what's also amusing is the subtitles for UBW blu ray is even worse then crunchyroll subtitles, $400 for crappy subtitles, wooo!!!
I hope UTW does blue ray translations like they did for Zero. Their translations are fantastic.

Yeah, a bit worried that HF might not turn out as great as it (apparently from all the praise I've heard) rightfully deserves.
I can understand it working in the VN format, since supposedly a lot of factors come full circle in HF, but as a separate story in filmmaking? I expect a lot of criticism going to plot holes and not as fleshed out characters as they could be. Hopefully HF can fill in on certain aspects as good as possible.

No no no what I mean is Avalon does not work in HF for a key reason, not that it's ignored
As the last route, everyone has so many death flags and the survivor list is very very very tiny. Makes Zeros ending look happy in comparison.
Also the bulk of the characters in HF have the best dev out of any route in my opinion. Hell even Rin is better in HF then her own route(hence why HF is called her second route)

lol @ 400 bucks.
Even Zero with its two separate sets, which cost me around 50 bucks on Amazon, made me go all "HNNNNGGG!!"
Yeah, gonna wait till both seasons have been released and had a significant price reduction before I get them.

Cool to hear. Ufotable has had a rather solid track record so far (as far as I am concerned) so hopefully HF adaptation will work fine as well.
Hell you think for that price they would at least do a good job with the subtitles, but lolnope.
lolplex

I have heard that too.
No way that I would ever buy a Blu ray at release from them...I mean not that I would ever buy Blu rays for $400 especially since they lied about their added 100 minutes.

Yup same here, Zero costed me 60 (well 65 with shipping costs) which is aleady a lot and the only reason I was willing to pay that is because I'm just that big of a Fate fan and FZ is one of my favorite anime out there but there is NO WAY you're ever going to see me pay for 400 bucks for UBW (which is one of my favorite things in anime ever).
What suprises me more is that there are people who buy stuff like this at that price.

I mentioned Gurren Lagann.
The Madoka and SAO sets are pretty expensive too.
And Kill la Kill.
Give Funimation credit, their stuff is better priced. Also you can find them in actual stores.
Which is a nice thing.

Sword Art Online costs €123,92 on the site I'm looking where I buy my anime...and that's just S1.
As for Kill La Kill...€119,34.
Yeaaaaaaah...if I'll ever buy anime I'll make sure to wait a few years.
