HxH won't suck you in until the Ant Arc.

Everything up to then (apart from the Yorknew Arc which is REALLY good) is pretty good, but not on Brotherhood's level.

Ant Arc tho'

It's passed the 75 episode mark and it's f*cking God Tier.

That arc made HxH for me.

Yeah, my brother has been pestering me about it in between his "watch Death Note" statements.

"Bro, watch HunterxHunter already!"

"Soon."

"King is great, you know!"

"So I've heard."

"The anime is great!"

"I know."

"Bro!"

"What?"

"Watch Death Note already."

Despite my huuuuuuuuuuuuge bias towards Death Note and my love for L.

I was sort of awe-struck at first since well... it was my first anime and my impression of anime before Death Note was... well... DBZ

I'll admit that it ain't all that good. It's good, but not god-tier.

But it's great fun for the first 26 episodes.

L makes that anime.

Light is just an absolute tosser.

So remember how I posted some info about the first 3 episodes from UBW S2?

I have some more information on that.

You should still take it with a grain of salt but it's a little bit clearer now.

But if some of these things are true than I won't be happy

Well my brother likes to view Death Note as the appex of anime. Or at least he praises it the most.

@Angel

"But if some of these things are true than I won't be happy."

No clue what it is, but that doesn't bode well. Hopefully it is something minor. Don't go all House of Cards on me Fate!!

Well I did say some.

Overall it does look good but there are a few things that do rub me the wrong way.

Death Note is an awesome anime for about 25 episodes after that it's painfully average until a great ending. Pretty valuable anime to watch, taught me plenty on how important certain aspects are in a show

Also L is kinda the best

Totally

Like for real

I think that this is something that a lot of people that have watched DN can agree on.

I remember having to temporarily drop the anime after that episode just because of how I really couldn't enjoy it anymore as much as before.

Finished Brotherhood and my God, was it brilliant! You guys weren't exaggerating when you said it is one of the most powerful climaxes in anime--because it sure is!

I could easily go and 'book' about FMA:B, but you guys are already aware how amazing this series is so there really is no need for it (besides, Chris already wrote a great post about it. Go read it if you haven't already).

I'm however gonna say that I loved the ending, because not only was it entertaining having everyone coming together and play a part in the stories conclusion, but that it truly correlated with the series central theme on the concept of "One is all, and all is one". People together stopping Father, Ed's answer to The Truth and ultimately the epilogue--which shows us that people complement each other in various ways, enrich us. The connection they have to each other; the bond between Ed and Al, the love Hohenheim has for his children and his wife, the trust between Riza and Mustang, the loyalty that Olivier and Ling feel for their people, and so much more. Moving forward together, and not struggling alone. Having friends and loved ones, and how it is portrayed through different avenues, is truly beautiful. This right here is what makes Brotherhood so darn special, and experiencing it as a viewer on how it is introduced, developed and finally concluded throughout the journey is so f*cking satisfying!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is truly one of a kind and easily falls into my third favorite anime, right after LOGH and GitS.

There's 26 episodes of this stuff?

26 Episodes and a Movie for the main series
Also the Shiny Festa specials which aren't 100% required.
And the currently running Spin-Off/Sequel Cinderella Girls which I'm waiting for it to finish before starting.

Oh that reminds me. The second season of Cinderella girls comes this summer so you may want to wait for that.

I'm sure you'll enjoy FMA for its first half (up to ep 26 or something) though after that... not so much when compared to Brotherhood.

Really the big thing is just how better of a villain The Father is compared to Dante. His lust for knowledge and the truth  is just far more interesting then Dante along with his connection to Hohenheim is just far better and creates a fantastic conflict.

Also you don't need to watch a movie to get the full conclusion >.<

I'm super late to the party (thanks PoE >.>) but I'll once again repeat what I've said at least 3894981749125 times so far regarding Berserk's prologue: Give it til Guardians of Desire 4. If it doesn't click with you by then, there's a strong chance it never will but for my money that's when the series starts hinting that there's so much more to it than initial impressions. <3

Siiiiiiim: How are you enjoying Monster, my friend? It gets heavy, for sure as I've seen you comment on but I'm curious if it's pushing the right sorts of button with you. I'll probably pester you about it in PM when we're both mentally at a place for detailed conversation but there's definitely some points from the manga that I'm very curious if the anime includes or skips over.

I'm.......Not sure what to feel. Shirou rushing in was a bad ending in the VN, why the hell are they going that route? That just makes Shirou look like a ****** idiot now.  *sigh*

lol yeah, I didn't even bother with the movie. When I saw the final episode of FMA all I went like was "what they f*ck? Ok let's check Wikipedia how it ends..."

"Hmm."

"Meh."

If these new scenes are Saber focused I am going to lose it, I really am. Bad enough a certain change now makes Shirou look like a utter moron.

No, Shirou is socially awkward, not a moron. Ufotable might be portraying him as a moron but in UBW and HF route, he's not a moron at all. The guy is very smart, great at planning, using tactics and good under pressure.
