Honestly, people are more than aware I don't like SAO that much, just specific things about it like most people.

The Worst thing had alot more variables than that.

I don't like Evangelion.

I like the concept of Fate more than the execution

I (This is a more recent development) don't really like Gutts.

My disinterest in some of the more popular anime series here.

My inability to care about the differences between Western Animation and Anime (I understand there's a difference, I just don't really see that point)

People unable to understand Muh Waifus > Their Waifus.

And a few other things.

 

Yeah see all that seems cool to me, I'd say... try the Evangelion rebuilds (much more fun than the show IMO, Berserk is kind of backloaded in terms of all the stuff that goes on... I kinda agree with fate... I also like Asuna.. but honestly I just prefer actual MMOs over MMO animes... etc..

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2, and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is what I shall be discussing or rather giving my opinion on. I figured that I might as well bundle them all up together in a single post since I never 'reviewed' any of them. Here we go!

 

 

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

 

This was my favorite of the two seasons. After

Haruhi forced the Computer Club President on Mikuru

I knew I was going to like the show. I found myself in a constant state of wonder in terms of what sort of scheme Haruhi would cook up next. It was always great fun seeing what predicament the cast would end up in and how they'd get out of it. I was also wondering how many members the S.O.S. Brigade would end up with and what they'd be (I skip the openings of all anime until around episode 12 so as to avoid knowing what characters will end up being important. It keeps things fresh and surprising for me). While I can understand how some people might find Haruhi to be annoying, I actually found her to be likable because of her tendency to not settle for things.

I also felt bad for her, because she caused so much conflict and was clueless to it.

What each of the characters represented

Alien, Esper, Time Traveler, The Chosen One

and how they were all together helped make the show unique to me. So that being said, I found the characters and the execution of the plot to be likable. I also liked how the characters being what they were didn't really play into the situations they were in. I don't really recall any music with the exception of the opening, which I found to be solid and enjoyable. All in all, I'd give The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya an 8 out of 10. 

 

  

 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009) - Season 2

I am doing my best to be objective and fair here, but I'm not going to lie, the Endless Eight did sour my opinion of this season quite a bit. Season 2 was my least favorite portion of the anime, not because it was bad (with the exception of the Endless Eight), but because something had to come in last. I don't really have much to discuss about season 2, since the majority of it was the Endless Eight and I feel like most people in this thread share the same opinion of it as I and therefore I don't really find the Endless Eight worth discussing other then to state "Boo, shame on you for burning me out". I came to like the second season a great deal after I finished the Endless Eight. The characters and the plot (with the exception of the Endless Eight) were still very much intriguing, despite me not noticing any character development. I found the movie production arc to be downright fun and the highlight of this season (although the space battle was really sweet). I oddly cannot remember the opening to the second season at the moment (I think I dedicated too many brain cells to the Endless Eight). I'd give season 2 a 7 out of 10, because it was full of laughs and fun after I got over the hard part. By the way, I can repeat myself to the point of being repetitiously boring too. I've said Endless Eight 8 times throughout this post.   

 

 

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

 

 

Incredibly dire is how I would describe the film. It was just so sad... and worth watching. It was beautifully done from beginning to end and was quite the trip.

I was completely wrong about the culprit, I suspected it was future Mikuru.

  Although 2 hours and 47 minutes long, each minute felt necessary to me. I find it hard to be able to "review" the film without giving spoilers, so I wont go into detail beyond saying that the characters, the plot (especially the plot), and the music were all top notch. If you've watched or end up watching both seasons of the anime, give this movie a watch, it's absolutely worth it. The Disappearance is the best act of the anime, I give it a 9 out of 10.

Ultimately that is what it comes down to. A bit more than that. But I have explained my stance before.

 

Yeah, I thought it was supposed to be 90minutes?

It was. 7-8:30. But like I said, just kinda ended, Rick did the thing. Morgan was like "Wtf bro?"

And no one killed Father Gabriel even though he's a disgusting human being.

And Michonne realized her sword will rust if she doesn't put it in her damn scabbard.

I just don't think Anno's a creator whose work is for me, I haven't really liked anything he's made.

For example, the Hesei era Gamera Trilogy is actually pretty solid (in comparison to the fairly mediocre Hesei Godzilla films, which...aren't very good and don't really have great continuity with each other), but the final one was worked on by Anno, and it's the weakest of the three, by being pretty incomprehensible. I've watched it several times and I still can't tell you what the hell is going on in 80% of it.

 

Berserk so far reminds me way too much of God of War, when I was expecting some more like Dark Souls. Considering my feelings on God of War you can see where my problem lies (Because Gutts and Kratos have fairly similar personalities and general stance on every other form of life).
