Question, cause I'm still a little confused on the way the Servant system works. After the Grail War ended, was Saber transported back to her time to finish what little life she had left?

 

Edit: In effect, are Heroic Spirits simply plucked out of time? Or are they all already dead.

Arthur is not a complete servant. She does not return to the Throne of heroes yet because her contract is not complete. The condition of her contract is to get the grail and she will then become a full heroic spirit. This is why she remembers all her holy grail wars wars in that world(remember, multiverse and since she is not taken out of the time axis like a normal hero this is why each Saber has no knowledge of the other routes), why she can't dematerialize and why she returned to the Hill she died at.

Is it possible for servants to be legends from the future? The diagram seemed to imply that. That would be pretty interesting though I don't expect it to come up in stay night. Maybe a spin off or something.

Yup. The Throne of Heroes hosts heroes, anti heroes, counter guardians ect. Anyone that does something big to enter the Throne can come from any time period ala past, present and future. Once you enter the Throne of Heroes ala becoming a heroic spirit, counter guardian whatever you are cut from the time axis.

Speaking of senseis, made House my Fate sensei so I'm finally going to try for the third time to properly work through the VN. :3 Feeling less bad about it after all these years cause I spent a long time figuring maybe the series wasn't for me since I kept quitting in the Fate route, but as it's been said here quite a few times, that just seems to be the Fate experience.

 

But he's been kind enough to hype train HF for me to the point where I'm going to trudge my way through Fate (not worried about UBW cause it sounds amazing too) so that I can revel in the good stuff. The updated version of the VN is super nice too. I have to admit having the VA is a touch I really enjoy and the music is fab. I guess it makes me laugh a bit cause previously (this was quite a few years ago) the routes weren't separate so now at least I'll be able to revisit things easily once my mind is blown. :3
