Animé I've seen:

Akira

Ghost In The Shell

Pokémon

Animé I intend to see:

Avatar The Last Air Bender: (I swear there is a character on that show who looks like Daenerys Targaryen).

Death Note

Clannad

Dragon Ball Z

Yu Gi Oh

Teen Titans (kind of Animé).

Aeon Flux

Are there any Anime you recommend?

All of these (It was easier for me to just quote that rather than type up all the names again):

So I took the top 10 list idea that was posted earlier and made a top 13 list (because the first 6 were a copy and paste job from something I made earlier). Because I am lazy (I didn't want to edit the first 6 posts, that's work) and because I believe that it would be more likely to get people to watch the shows I have listed, I briefly described each show and what it's about rather than reviewing and saying what I liked about each show. I also put which version I preferred of each show (dubbed or subbed) right next to their title.

Let's get Kraken  crackin. Here's my top 13 anime list:

1. WataMote (A.K.A.  WATASHI GA MOTENAI NO WA DOU KANGAETE MO OMAERA GA WARUI) #Subbed

ibdC7r9qcB4jAw.gif

My favorite anime and show. It's about a 15 year-old girl  (Tomoko Kuroki) who suffers Social Anxiety and therefore struggles to communicate with other people. The series is about her attempting to overcome her Social Anxiety and her day to day life. She usually comes up with plans that make sense based upon what she observes, but usually backfire.  This is a Spice of Life/Comedy and is arguably even a study of Social Anxiety, some people have called the show tasteless and cruel, but I, a sufferer of Social Anxiety, love it.

2. Toradora! (A.K.A Tiger Dragon) #Subbed

large.gif

My second favorite anime, it was my favorite for a very long time until WataMote came along and dethroned it. Toradora! is about a boy (Ryuji) with eyes that usually causes people to fear him (much to his dismay) and a cute girl (Taiga) with a serious attitude. The two soon discover that they like each others best friend and form an unlikely alliance to try and end up with them. This is a Spice of Life/Comedy/Romance/Drama.

____________________________________________________________________________________
3. Spice and Wolf (A.K.A. Ookami to Koushinryou) #Dubbed

tumblr_n9lfcmO25d1t9kr5po1_500.gif

One night a travelling merchant (Kraft Lawrence) comes across a surprise in his cart, nestled asleep inside is an attractive nude woman with wolf ears and a tail. The woman identifies herself as Holo, the wise wolf. The two eventually reach and arrangement and began to travel together, eventually Holo begins to demonstrate a deep understanding of economics, much to Lawrence's surprise. Is the travelling merchant in over his head? Will he be outfoxedwolfed? You'll have to watch this show about Economics/Romance to find out.

4. Daily Lives of High School Boys (A.K.A  Danshi Koukosei no Nichijou) #Subbed

tumblr_ma12mboxOS1rwhzalo1_500.gif

Daily Lives of High School Boys manages to keep things fresh by featuring a wide array of characters and glimpses of their lives. It's a very Robot Chicken-esque show, that is to say random, but random in a way that makes sense and pertains to the lives of the High School kids. It sets up many long running gags and even breaks the fourth wall on occasion. DLoHSB is pure comedy (and fun).

_____________________________________________________________________________________
5. Clannad and Clannad: After Story #Subbed

tumblr_lvp72aiCYs1qg9van.gif

Clannad is about a High School delinquent (Tomoya) who cuts class and a girl (Nagisa) who dreams of bringing back the theater club. The two meet on the way to school one fateful day and set out to bring back the theater club, which might not be as possible as they had previously thought. Clannad is a Romance/Comedy/Drama

Clannad: After Story covers Tomoya's life after High School and deals with him becoming an official part of society. He soon learns that the life of an adult isn't necessarily a glamorous one and experiences my vary, as trials begin to line up to test his resolve. Clannad: After Story is known for tearing viewers down and bringing them to tears (don't google image search Clannad as you'll be spoiled). Clannad: After Story is a Romance/Spice of Life/Drama

_______________________________________________________________________________________
6. Angel Beats! #Dubbed

giphy.gif

A main character with a severe case of amnesia, a student taking aim at the student president with a sniper rifle, and awesome music is what one is immediately treated to when tuning into the first episode of Angel Beats! Guns blazing on the High School grounds is an everyday occurrence in Angel Beats! Angel Beats! has a unique premise, one which will be clear by the end of the first episode. Can the amnesiac regain his lost memory and who will he ultimately side with? This anime is a Drama/Mystery/Fighting/Comedy.

_______________________________________________________________________________________
7. Noragami #Subbed

tumblr_ncqjs6vhDV1shcw33o2_500.gif

What is it like to be forgotten? What is it like to be at rock bottom? Noragami deals with both of these questions by following the forgotten god Yato. Yato has to resort to taking odd jobs in order to gain followers so that he can be revered once again. Things start to take a turn for the forgotten god after he rescues a female student (Hiyori) from death, out of gratitude she comes to help Yato in his quest to become recognized, for better or for worse. Noragami is a Comedy/Fighting anime.

________________________________________________________________________________________
8. Date A Live/Date A Live II #Subbed

giphy.gif

Date A Live uses the Harem genre on purpose as part of the main plot, the show would not work without it being set up in a such a way. The plot is also a lot more complicated than one is initially led to believe. Date A Live follows Shido, a high schooler, who initially doesn't know that he contains the ability to seal the power of Spirits (beings who cause spacequakes, large natural disaster like catastrophes which result in the destruction of life). If you are looking for a good comedy with quite a bit of romance, fighting, and a surprisingly complicated plot with likable characters then Date A Live/Date A Live II is what you should turn your attention to.
________________________________________________________________________________________
9. Death Note #Dubbed

giphy.gif

The ability to kill anyone in whatever way you desire, that is the power of the Death Note. The power comes with the cost of having to know the name of the individual you want to kill (oh, and you don't get to go to Heaven or Hell when you die), not a problem right? Well, it sure is in Light Yagami's case for he has been using the power of the Death Note to kill any that commit crime (he gets his info from the news) and has gained the attention of Interpol who have turned to the world's greatest detective out of desperation, a mysterious individual known only as L. L races to discover the identity of the mysterious killer as the death toll rises, while Light races to discover L's identity.

________________________________________________________________________________________
10. Kill la Kill #Subbed

tumblr_myffy5cQ2G1rixcc6o2_400.gif

If you are looking for something that is ridiculous in a good way, Kill la Kill is for you. Kill la Kill contains memorable characters, great music, lots of humor, nudity, and amazing fight scenes, you can't go wrong with any of that (or all, in this case). I don't really know how else to describe the show without bombing the reader with spoilers, so I shall cease commenting on it here.
________________________________________________________________________________________
11. Golden Time #Subbed

ils3kUT0T3C7w.gif

Only three shows on this list don't involve high school in any capacity and this is one of them. Golden Time takes the old High School cliche and spins it to be set at a college instead. In fact, Golden Time takes many tried and true cliches and spins them into something new and interesting, example: The Beach/Swimsuit episode. This anime has a truly great antagonist and one who I felt a great deal of sympathy for, I'd recommend it based on that alone. If you like mystery, romance and young adults trying to find their place in life give this a watch.
________________________________________________________________________________________
12. Now and Then, Here and There  #Dubbed

hqdefault.jpg

Now and Then, Here and There follows a boy (Shu) who gets transported to the future due to circumstance. The future is anything but wondrous, for a crazy dictator (Hamdo) rules it with an iron fist as he desperately tries to find an everlasting source of water (something which is extremely rare in the future). I'd feel like a liar if I didn't point out that Hamdo actually sent chills down my spine, for not only is he sadistic (his army is comprised mainly of children) and crazy, but highly unpredictable. A warning dear reader(s): this show is very dark (it contains a rape and has children get gunned down indiscriminately).
________________________________________________________________________________________

13. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya #Subbed

tumblr_n0leudhlEn1rds01jo1_400.gif

Both the show and the movie are well crafted (although the second season does have a tedious arc know as the Endless Eight, however the arc is not without necessity).  I went in expecting a romantic show about high schoolers, but I found myself watching a show about... something else and was really happy with it. It was always interesting going into the next episode because I always found myself trying to imagine what Haruhi was going to get the SOS Brigade involved in next. In a nutshell the show was about a high school girl (Haruhi Suzumiya) looking for the existence of Aliens, Espers, and Time Travelers. She eventually gets the boy who sits at the desk in front of her (Kyon) to help her form a group tasked with that. I really found the show to be fun and the movie to be even better, both were just full of surprises.

__________________________________________________________________________________________
And that's it. I get a feeling that Lucky Star might actually disturb the order of the list, there will probably be a sequel to this list at some point.

We haven't heard anything about that so I think it's safe to assume that it will be a 26 minute episode like always.

I read that it had Crispen Freeman as Kyon, but I'd already got to Season 2 at that point.

I usually go Subbed by default, not because of a bias mind you, but because I know that there will be a subbed version and that it'll be easy to find. Dubs can be a pain to find at times and I often found myself unsure as to whether or not they existed.

I was really surprised with how evenly my list was split between subbed and dubbed, I expected that subbed would decimate dubbed on that list, but they about evened out.

Crispin Freeman, Wendy Lee, and Johnny Yong Bosch.
I mean it's understandable I guess.

So like Fate/Zero looks really good on my dads TV.

Crispin Freeman was in the dub? That automatically means the dub is better in every possible way and any other contrary opinion is treacherous slanter, which should result in said person to be added unto the government depopulation list.

I don't know what a Haruhi is but the mere mention of Crispin Freeman is enough to warrant that it's better with Crispy Rice Freeman.

Thing is.

It's between Crinspin' Freesex and Joseph Joestar.

Kind of a hard choice.

Before Geth even talked to me.

Yeah, I watched it voiced with the dub. Saber's Japanese voice just grated on my ears. I preferred Kari Wahlgren's voice. Plus, Alexander's VA sounded hot AF!

I don't know what that is but the dub is clearly better as it carries Kari Wahlgren(Celty, Jedi Knight in TOR), Bosch, Crispy Rice, Jamieson Price(God amongst voice actors when it comes to boomy voices), Grant George(DID YA SEE THAT SHINJI?!), Dan Woren (Welcome to the Velvet Room, SENBONZAKURA!), Michelle Ruff -- It's like a cast of stars on par with Durarara!! It can't possibly be bad even if I don't know that anime is about at all.

Any attraction to Saber I have is 95% because of Kari's voice tbh. It's a blessing to hear it again after the DEEN Fate dub.
