Finished Kuroko no Basket's manga. That Teikou arc was way too long and Extra Game's art is atrociously horrible and should not have been made.

Yeah a couple people were. An older user who I haven't seen in a while Mhmba disagreed with me about it a bit and we talked a good chunk about the final decision in it. I've also debated a few people on it since I'll basically defend it to the death. Discussing TRS is also how me and Ani became friends as a few people in this thread will remember since we both think fairly alike.
If you weren't here then you probably never saw me throw out book post after book post over how amazing it was lol.. I would sometimes pump out multiple giant posts on the same page over that series lol.
Most people here enjoyed the ending. Largely due to there being certain people in here writing books on it to explain stuff. They know who then are.
Ah, I see.
I myself loved the movie but it certainly sparked a lot of discussion when it was released so I was curious how it was received in here since most people think it was an amazing movie and no one seemed to dislike it.

I only hate its loli characters. I'm indifferent enough that I don't care to go out of my way to comment on it for the most part.

My brother thinks it ruined everything the series created.
I think sending him a Mikasa dakimakura to his college dorm will be hilarious retribution to him recommending the show, but turning people away from the movie.

Can we not bring up worst character in this thread for the rest of the year unless it's her getting pistol-whipped with a Dominator?

At least you're not "indifferent" about based Mika, but I can't just overlook your terrible taste here.
And when's the movie gonna get subbed already, g'damn.

So if Vroom can keep writing super professional posts so can I.
Because I've been wanting to expand on my 10 ten Anime characters list from some time ago.
10. Ghost (Halo Legends: Prototype)

His place is so low due to the thing he was in not technically being anime. Ghost in the long run of Halo Canon will not be remembered. But his story overall was the most grounded of Halo Legends. Mecha armor aside. Outside of the armored up super soliders and highly trained ODSTs, the marines are still getting slaughtered by covenant left and right. Which is pretty much what Ghosts story is about. The guilt of letting his squad die and his urge to atone for that sin makes him one of the single best characters in the entire Halo series, and probably has the most complete character arc in the whole Halo franchise. If you've never watched Halo Legends, it's not the greatest thing ever, but I highly recommend watching Prototype. It's fantastic.
9. Illyasviel Von Einzbern (Fate/Stay Night Franchise)

All the loli jokes aside, I genuinely do find Ilya to be a very interesting character. Her backstory has alot of sadness and manipulation, it's no wonder she's so blood thirsty when you first run into her, but becomes soft and fuzzy when she's not offed. Hell, even though her spin-off sucks she wasn't ultimately what brought it down, being basically genre savvy as **** the whole time.
Also she's cute as a button.
8. Asuna Yuuki (Sword Art Online (Progressive and Mothers Rosario))

I know right? Get mad. But I did specify it to the versions of SAO that focus on her and she's not a second stringer to Kiritos suck. Asuna isn't that special in the long run of female protagonists. She starts out as a tsundere after all. But when you dig deeper into the relationship with her mom you start to understand her more, showing alot of depth to her that is only matched by Sinon later on (Just more relateable than murdering someone). Not to mention being undeniably badass (We don't talk about Fairy Dance. Didn't happen), and manages to remain as such, despite being downsized in role in several arcs to accommodate Kiritos massive harem. But in spite of that. Asuna makes watching and reading a terrible series like SAO more than worth it.
7. The Girls of 765 Productions (The iDOLM@STER Series)

Am I cheating with this one? Yes. But it's my list so shut your face hole. I came across iM@S at the right time. It was a difficult time that I'm not going into. But pretty much something bad happened and literally my one goal that I ever wanted to achieve became impossible. The future is a scary enough thing to begin with, but having nothing to look forward to with your work makes it even worse. So anyway, all 13 of these girls just came around, and through a mix of comedy and very well done story arcs inspired me. That's the beginning and end of it. The cast as a whole are just so likeable and relatable it's hard not to get sucked into the series. Which is ultimately why I made it all the girls. It's too hard to narrow down my favorite. So Imma do this.
Chihaya learning to let go of her guilt and sing, Miki ending her lazy streak to become one of the most talented idol, to Makoto just trying to be herself and not the prince image forced onto her. It's just good stuff all around.
6. Yu Narukami (Persona 4: The Animation)

Putting Yu up here will come as a shock I know. Buy y'know characters you connect with right?
I actually like Persona 4 The Animation more than the game, and it ultimately comes down to Yu himself, he's given more of a character just because he's not a player avatar. And as such can be fleshed out more. "By making him afraid of being alone? That's not all that much" I hear you say. Maybe to you, but I relate to that so much. I'm trying to explain with what I mean without going to much into my personal stuff. But it's hard, so just take my word for it. I wouldn't put Yu all the way up here unless I had a good reason.
5. Vash the Stampede (Trigun)

Vash is awesome. That's just a general rule of thumb. While a complete badass that hides behind a goofy persona is nothing new, Vash does it in such a way it never gets old. Just keeping you guessing as to how he'll be able to get one over his opponent for the episode. He's got a great backstory, likeable personality (Helped by Johnny Yong Boschs fantastic performance in the English dub). It's Vash. Anime Classic. You should know already.
4. Holo The Wise Wolf (Spice and Wolf)

Yes, our threads resident goddess. Holo is a crazy, fun loving, hilarious, ditsy, carefree wolf goddess with a silky tail. Throughout the series you can see her depth though, you can tell through the two seasons she's extremely conflicted about how the world moved on from her, and she's not totally sure what she should actually do.
Also her interaction with Lawrence is top notch and her dub performance is amazing.
3. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi/Wild Tiger (Tiger & Bunny)

inb4 jokes about how Kotetsu is just an older me. Kotetsu is just a likeable protagonist. Able to switch between being a comedic goofball, and a badass on the tip of a hat. His character is so genuinly sweet it really is hard to not like him especially in regards to his departed wife. I've gushed enough about Tiger & Bunny I find it challenging to say anything more.
2. Kittan (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

Most people have a major hard on for Kamina, which is fine. To each their own. But Kittan is a substantially better character by far. Him and Simon actually are pretty similar, in that, they both are trying to follow in Kaminas footsteps. However Simon, is able to accept who he is, and moves past trying to be his bro, yet Kittan doesn't realize his own strengths until years later. Just wanting to be Kamina instead of himself even though he's already far surpassed Kamina in so many ways (Hell he stole a gunman from the beastmen before Kamina ever got his hands on Lagann). What it all leads up to is my favorite moment in pretty much anything, anime, movies, comics, nothing in my mind comes close to Kittan destroying the Anti-spiral generator. The Music, the performance on both English and Japanese dubs, the animation, it's all amazingly well done.
1. Kyon (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Kyon is a character I see alot of myself in, and that is a common theme with alot of people, if you're able to connect with a character on a personal level.
Initially Kyon can be seen as a straight man to the utter insanity going on in Haruhi, which he is. But Kyon is a pretty strange guy himself. Given his narration is literally him mumbling to himself if that Light Novels are to believed.
Ultimately what makes me adore Kyon is the Disappearance movie. Which finally makes him look at the crazy situation he's in and accept it. Sure it's insane, loopy, and he has to spend most of his time with a borderline sociopath like Haruhi, but he's still enjoying the life he wanted to have that he described all the way back in the first episode. But yeah. Kyon is Number 1 and stuff whoo.
This took over 2 hours to write. Dammit Sim Vroom. Apologies if some stuff doesn't make sense but that's the reason.
And here's some honorable mentions:
Yurripe (Angel Beats)
Lunatic (Tiger & Bunny)
Bardock (Dragon Ball Z)
Starscream (Transformers Armada (Absolutely god awful show, great version of Starscream))
Afro (Afro Samurai)
Gintoki (Gintama)
Simon (Gurren Lagann)
Homura (Madoka Magica)
Satsuki (Kill La Kill)
Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate/Zero)

I am too, hypocritically. I've given people flack for calling The Last Airbender an anime plenty of times. Even though, technically, it is. So is Ed, Edd n Eddy.

The Last Airbender utilizes narrative elements and tools similar to Japanese animation, its style is heavily mixed between eastern and western -- Its plot also follows along similar traits to that of anime, while the influence of Miyazaki is very apparent. The tone and world are based around the spiritual myths of eastern culture, and its characters are pretty much characterized with a very heavy western-inspired touch. It's a real mixture of both worlds.
I don't see what's so bad about defining it as an anime, really.
Batman: The Animated Series, was also partially animated by a Japanese studio, the very same that worked on Bebop.. Incidentally, there's a Japanese mecha anime called The-Big-O which style and main character is very similar to that of the BTAS.

Better than an Asuna one, but that's not saying much.

Haven't seen it, but I remember reading about it -- It's an anime that pays homage to old western cartoons from the 70s and onward, its artstyle is heavily reminiscent of BTAS, and the main characters design looks like a cross James Bond and Bruce Wayne. I might check it out myself.

I actually picked it back up (saw some episodes on Toonami a long time ago) and have been spamming this like a bored Tenten pic.
Definitely right about the 70s homage just from the opening alone.

Spoiler
Oh mercy, I'm kinda dying already. Laughing that bad the first thing in the morning is possibly lethal
It's not like I ever see anyone talking about PMMM (outside perverting Sayaka-chan..
) or SSY much.
Berserk gotten a fair bit of attention lately but of course it's well I'm usually at work.
It has gotten quite rare to see anything PMMM besides people appreciating some fine features on Sayaka and me breaking out a Kyoko gif which isn't the most common thing.
SSY.. well besides smacking silly people thinking very silly things about some luuuuuuuuve there's like nothing. The two series I love the most and so little
Woe.. oh woe this life is.. so haaaarsh!
