Good read. Especially enjoyed the part where they discussed adapting the game to an anime format--where to make changes for it to work on its own as well as possible. Always comforting to hear that they seem to know what they are doing.

This is because UBW has a slight atmosphere change as it goes on. UBW starts of light and slowly gets darker. The OP and ED change show this very well too.

Ok, Episode 13 Review

 

Dear God, it is so damn good to be back in this universe

This is coming from someone who has not read the VN.

 

Points of Interest:

-music is basically an eargasm. Both the new opening and ending were perfect.

 

-Rin and Archer's conversation about regret was very, very well done.

 

-Rin and Shirou's romantic relationship is progressing very nicely, and I really enjoyed their dialogue at the end

 

-Did Caster's "scene" get censored? Granted, I think the anime got the point across very well, through subtle things like Souchirou walking in and Caster getting all flustered. Plus, with Saber's butt hanging up in the air, I think the disturbing portion was still visually translated pretty well.

 

-Animation is absolutely top quality, I doubt anything else will beat it during this season.

 

 

All in all, a very strong first episode, in my opinion.

I'm not usually one for anime, but I've been watching Parasyte, and that's a really cool show with a neat premise. No spoilers, but a bunch of alien parasites (now I know why it's called "Parasyte") come to Earth one night and make their way into people's heads and control their bodies. It's like The Thing mixed with Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and turned into a TV show instead of being a movie. It IS full of body horror and doesn't skimp out on the gore though, just a forewarning.

Overall it was a good episode

 

I don't like how Shirou jumps down in the anime while screaming TOHSAKA though.

 

Oh and shame on you ufotable for not using any soundtrack when Shirou and Rin had their moment.
