Mmm, Durarararararararara has been quite neat so far and getting a bit better every episode!
I just a read a comment saying that the Rin and Shirou romance came out of nowhere and I'm sitting here like, "what are you, blind?" They couldn't have made it more freaking obvious if they tried.
Some people

Probably some Saber fans who are butthurt Shirou isn't going for her instead of Rin.

That's dumb. I have issues with the romance but it's Rin's route not Saber's.

Beats me.
What are your issues with the romance?

I don't know. I just don't enjoy it that much. I seriously have no idea. I've even went back over the romantic portions of the VN and I still don't understand why I have issues with it.
I just want to see a grown up Shirou and Rin epilogue where they are being akwardly lovey dovey

I decided to pick this anime back up because I've already watched the first 4 episodes a couple of years ago and I don't like having too many anime in my on hold list. Let's see if it's really as bad as some people say.
One thing is fore sure, I don't think I'll ever be able to take Lovecraftian lore seriously again.

Really? Damn, this fan is hella baka tbh.I just a read a comment saying that the Rin and Shirou romance came out of nowhere and I'm sitting here like, "what are you, blind?" They couldn't have made it more freaking obvious if they tried.

Lots of people in the anime community are bakas.
Reading the comments for Monster is painful.
I finished UBW and I liked it lots. I will words about it later. Maybe.
Currently at day 8 myself.

The days start to get longer soon. Wait are you on the fate route or UBW?

True.
Every time I look at an anime that has a good dub on yt chances are that there are people in the comments who will argue about which one is better.

UBW climax is pretty good
(ubw vn spoilers)
Shirou is ****** awesome in UBW. He's almost like a deconstruction of the typical bland mary sue protagonist.

UBW.
UBW.
Ah good. It would have been bad if you ended up on the fate route. ![]()

That is one of the biggest reasons I love that guy and his role in the story.
Most Shounen anime would glorify main characters that would take a hit to save their friend or the heroine and than they would act like it didn't happen but no in FSN they actually adres that point.
Ah good. It would have been bad if you ended up on the fate route.
I skipped Fate. I received the info that you get through that route, so there is no reason for me to bother with it.

I hear he's even more awesome in HF.

Both Shirou in UBW and HF are different people by the end of route so it depends on what kind of Shirou you prefer.
And both achieve some amazing feats in the HGW.

I only need to think about Rebellion and I got more than enough evidence of that.. Oh deeear me

No surprise. Many Zero only watchers think Fate is just about fighting but SN which focuses far more on the characters and their relationships just rubs them the wrong way and they think they can just ignore the dialog butt hen ****** when important plot stuff happen.
Hell some baka said we should have saw more Kotomine then what was expanded, even though
1: Shirou, Archer and Rin are the main characters in UBW
2:These events MUST happen for the plot to move forward
It's just typical people who think they know what Fate is all about just because they watch Zero and think all Fate will be or should be like that.
Pretty much. While sharing a similar premise, they are two very different mediums and should be judged as such.
F/SN's story is primarily about Shirou and his ideals of heroism which are explored through various events, conflicting points of views, and forged relationships that help influence those ideals. Zero on the other hand was more interested in defining the universe and its concepts through different POVs, having a larger focus on wanting to explore the players and making them equally relevant to the central plot. Stay Night isn't interested in this in the same level as Zero, and such aspects are secondary in importance and primarily exists as the testing ground for Shirou's ideals. Its aim is the exploration of the sliding scale of idealism vs cynicism, wherein the narrative is more dichotomous in its approach.
I can perfectly understand if one prefers the narrative approach of Zero more, which focuses of the viewpoint of various contestants rather than the evolving world surrounding one single protagonist, I do think it's rather unfair to ignore the intent of SN, and treat deviations from its spinoff as an objective negative, which certain people also have a tendency to do.
I myself prefer Zero, but I am still enjoying UBW immensely, since it is--you know--great.
