Just finished Kekkai Sensen Episode 1

-music was absolutely fantastic. It felt like some 30s jazz brought into the modern day with a very upbeat tempo. And those saxophones were killing it!

-really good animation and fight scenes

-story concept was pretty solid. Looking forward to next week's episode.

Very good premiere. 10/10

This reminds me of an old Chinese proverb I heard about spider silk.

Spider silk is a lot stronger than worm silk, so you'd think it would make great clothing. The problem is that spider silk cannot be reliably farmed, because spiders are territorial cannibals. If you take a whole bunch of silk worms, put them in a shoe box, and leave it alone overnight, in the morning you'll have some silk. If you take a whole bunch of spiders, put them in a shoe box, and leave it alone overnight, in the morning you'll have one spider.

I imagine that it would be impossible to build an army of yanderes in gundams for the same reason. Because if you leave them alone together in a shoebox, they'll eat each other.

Yeah, I saw the Shirou/Rin romance coming, but that doesn't mean I have to like it lol. I was hoping he would choose Saber, but it's all good still a great show and Rin is awesome as well. I can hardly blame Shirou for choosing Rin.

An army of Yanderes in Gundams? Embryo-san approves of this arrangement.

B-Boz8ACYAAgJhW.png

Why of course. Having all our giant death machines piloted by little girls is absolute genius.

Ikaros from HLP shall be the general of my armies.

My Yandere army led by Ikaros and Lelouch will succeed. There shall be no resistance. The Lolis will be my shock troops. Clones of Yuno will storm the streets, being axe happy.

And Ikaros will go into Uranus Queen against anyone who attempts to take my army away from me.

Attempt at your own risk of a brutal wing slap.

Angelic Loli can have a few of my troops. But only a FEW!!!

Watched the first episode of The Heroic Legend of Arslan.

Heroic-Legend-of-Arslan-Header.jpg

Well not a bad first episode. Set in a fantasy world with apparently arabic architecture as an inspiration for the setting, the story seems to tell the journey of a timid young prince who has lived most of his 11 year life inside the castle walls, who is more familiar with the prosperous and cultured lifestyle of the upper hierarchy while being mostly ignorant of the 'outside' world, and who suddenly learns that the world is quite different than what he is accustomed to. From the premise of this episode, it seems that the story will not only tell the journey of this prince as he reaches into maturity, but also put weight on slavery and religious obsession, since they were the aspects that were taken up in the episode.

Well honestly there is really nothing much to be said about the show so far since as it currently stand with its story and themes, it is nothing special. This show could be an easy hit or miss, or just something in between. The show has piqued my interest at least for me to watch it on a weekly basis for now, but I'm keeping my hopes at a minimum.

I do want to pick it up but will most likely wait until it's finished because it's just the kind of show that might just as likely end up a disappointment as alright. Taking too many risks already as I do. So keep us updated!

Sure. It is hardly anything special really, so it's not like you are missing anything. If you feel like it though, you can join me and see if this show turns into anything decent or not. It at least has the potential for it. :)

EDIT:

@Rah

That is a wise choice. And will certainly do!

I'll try it out tonight if I have time after all the Easter festivities, plus homework. If not, I'll try to get through the premiere some time this week. I've pretty much used up all my free time for this weekend anyways.

Suppose we could make some kind of "alliance" Some help you when needed and if I would ever require some I could get access to them.

Since I'm a benevolent kind of person I'll try to get behind that.

Anyway about anime!

Over the last few days I actually watched my first magical girl anime (well besides Madoka but that one is special) namely Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. I kind of felt that after having watched Madoka I should watch a normal magical girl anime too.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nonoha S1 was just what I expected from a Magical Girl show, a girl that finds a magical item that she can use to turn into a magical girl, she defeats monsters, finds another magical girl and then eventually she finds her resolve to fight for more than just wanting to help the person who gave her the item that makes it possible for her to turn into a magical girl and to use magic.

Season 1 isn't really that special. It sets out what it wants do and does that well. If I had to give a score I would give it a 7/10.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nonoha A's (S2) does everything the first season did but better. It is still set in a magical girl world where the main character is 9 years old but it manages to give a plot that was far more interesting (not that that was really that hard to do). Since Nonoha's "becoming a magical girl" arc is done in the first season the second season manages to give us a lot more backstory for new characters introduced in S2 and even gives us some more development for characters that were already introduced in S1. There were also some parts were a lot more seriously but they were handled in a way that it didn't feel unfitting for the show.

So if I give S1 a 7/10, S2 easily deserves a 8/10.

So to close my post I'll post a gif from my favorite character in the show

As of now, it has me very, very interested. The vibe was really, really interesting. And I can easily get behind any fictionalized rendition of New York City.

The music had a very upbeat swing/jazz thing going on that was really good. I heard someone liken some of the music and animation choices as being almost reminiscent of Cowboy Bebop.

Anywho, you can probably hold off on it, if you'd like. I'll be watching the next few and can give you the lowdown on how it goes.

Well it's mostly about Daenerys Targaryen doing her stuff again.

Sorry I mean Arslan.

As of now, I have on my weekly watch list:

Owari no Seraph

Kekkai Sensen (this one has the most potential for me, praying that it continues to do well)

Fate

Digimon (if the damn thing ever gets a release date)

Also, I'm telling you all now to avoid Gunslinger Stratos cause I thought the premiere was abysmal.

You read the manga yes?

I recall you praised it when compared to the original anime adaptation, though don't remember if you completed it.
