I find the K-On! College Manga to be disappointing. It feels rushed and isn't near as fun as the show was. The cute things only really seem to work in the anime format for me. 

 

I glanced at it back when I finished up K-on last spring and.. yeah never looked worth the time and effort

I can't really laugh at Tomoko because I've been throught a lot of the same stuff she's gone through. I guess that in that way I'm simply not desentized enought to watch Watamote. 

 

Maybe I'll rewatch it in a few years and actually manage to complete the anime.

Well, things certainly have taken a turn!

Not only has Shirou befriended Ilya, but Fake Assassin died and True Assassin appeared!

And Caster killed her master! And soon got defeated afterwards by Saber.

Coming just from UBW with Caster still as an important character to the story, seeing her getting defeated like that was weird to say the least.

But thats what I love about this series. Each route has completely different scenarios that all happend just because of a small decision Shirou made in the past.

Oh and finally seeing Rin's defenceless anus in action was priceless.

Though I think Tokiomi rolled over in his grave.

Vroom: We're watching it on CrunchyRoll so subbed! Isi feels the same as you regarding her original VA so I wanted to experience it that way and so far I'm not let down in the slightest. :3

 

And please, gush away! Folks' enthusiasm in the thread is exactly what pushes things around my list. It's a series that clearly means a lot to you too. :3 I mean we can always hop to PM if you're more comfy there, but us hijacking the thread for a bit isn't exactly a bad thing in my book!

 

Definitely going to be checking out the manga too at some point~ Might do that today actually cause I'm feeling a bit stressed and could use the pick-me-up.

The manga is certainly special and chock full of references. One of my favorite parts is when she makes a points system for interacting with people (and then she goes off the rails with it). My biggest regret with the anime is that it never got far enough to introduce her rival (I won't spoil her rival for you), if a season 2 ever comes about then hopefully that missed opportunity is realized. 

 

 

 

Also, the writer and artist of WataMote goes by a shared pen name, Tanigawa Nico. They also just held their first signing event (that is known of because their identities are unknown) and wore masks to the event.

 

Masks that looked like cats (I had a picture, but BSN doesn't like the extension for some stupid reason). 

 

I think that the writer's experiences account for some of the source material for Tomoko. They both seemed pretty shy during the signing event, although that could have been a gimmick. 

 

On the bright side the writer has stated that he/she plans for the WataMote Manga to at least cover graduation. So we've got quite a ways to go until the end (she's 16, probably near 17, in the Manga at the moment).

I've yet to decided if I'll only catch up with the UBW anime or do all the route in the VN. Slowly working my way through it though, I believe I'm around episode 10 at this point. That aside it's been great to get reminded by a few things that did happen in the first cour and just get an overall better understanding of the events that happened.

I'd completely believe that Tomoko came from the writer's experiences even just in part. They do say that you write best what you know afterall. Suppose there's got to be some form of catharsis there cause while the opinions on the series are rather divided, there seem to be a whole handful of folks that relate to her adventures, for better or worse and to a writer, I'd like to think that'd be a fairly amazing feeling.

I'm biting my tongue so hard right now, mustn't spoil anything.   It is up to date, Chapter 76 comes out April 16th. It's usually two chapters a month.   The translators are amazing too, they get them translated the exact day they release in Japan. 

 

It's definitely worth reading the Manga from the beginning too, because they mix up the order of things on the anime. They also combine chapters seamlessly in the anime (at least it appeared that way to me, it was so well done that I couldn't tell) when making episodes, I find it neat to see how that's done. I think that the anime covers almost up to chapter 34 (somewhere around there), but it skips a couple of things as well.  

 

I wish to know who the writer is, but I guess it's for the best that he/she keeps their identity anonymous because of all the crazies out there.
