Ooh i've heard of that show. It's apparently like EVA on meth.

Mechas got hopes and dreams!?
Those poor, poor machines
Hehe...![]()
I suspect you got my meaning in that I meant the genre's rather than mecha/girls respectively, but on the off chance you didn't....
Of course, if you want mecha with feelings, there's always Xenoglossia, the touching love story between a girl and her giant robot....

I'm always suprised looking at lists like those people are posting just how popular Madoka is. Don't get me wrong, I do think it's a good show, but it never struck me as "all time classic" material. I suppose it didn't help that I watched it shortly after Bokurano, which is probably the best deconstruction anime I've ever seen. Madoka has a remarkable number of similarities to that show, but in comparison comes across as rather...tame....
I've heard about that anime but just like Rah I'm not that big of a mecha fan.
I did watch EVA but even that anime didn't impress me as much as it does with most people.

I'll admit I'm not a huge Evangelion fan. It's reasonable, but not worthy of the hype IMO....

Mrf. My ears always perk for deconstructions, so it looks like I'm going to have to do some Bakurano research. :3 Potentially soul crushing? Yes please.
ETA: Might throw around the idea of doing the top 10 myself but it'll be super non-committal and in no particular order to the numbering. ![]()

I can not log in to my SWtOR game. It keeps saying log in service currently unavailable....I have tried every troubleshooting step. Bu no luck.....except for fixlauncher because no matter how many times I reinstalled the game, weather on the existing one or a new install with a new downloaded client, it does not run. Though used LauncherUtilityRepair, but still nothing....please...

Two days ago I could not log in to the account I made through normal connection. Probably becaause BSN and star wars and EA servers are blocked off by my countries "good people". So I have to use a software called hotspot shield. So by using that, I am able to log in to EA and here and SW. But last night in the middle of the game, the software stopped working. The game was running better than ever. But this morning till now, no matter what I do, I can not log in. not Even when I use that certain software.
Help please

When it comes to deconstructions, at least with regards mecha, the original is Space Runaway Ideon, (although these days it's mainly known for two things: a) being written at the peak of Tomino's (of Gundam fame) obssession with killing off as many characters as possible [which he achieves here on a level matched by very few shows] and b ) being a major inspiration for EVA). I'm never quite sure whether to recommend it, as while the overarching story is very good, the episodes themselves get pretty repetative (as with many shows from that time). Still, if you're into that kind of thing, it might be worth a look.

I'll at least put it on the massive list of shows I at some point might watch. It being mecha is going to be a bit of an issue but if the other part actually are as good as mentioned it should be doable

UBW absolutely got the potential to break into my top 10. All the ingredients for it are there. Actually thought UBW would be the first show I watch ongoing to break into top 10 but Parade kinda ruined that but 2nd show to possibly make it isn't that bad
I already have a spot ready for UBW if it continues as is. I can already see AOT getting shucked off my list for that.

Heh. I fear a tiny bit for KLK but it's been on the rope many times and the 8-10 are pretty much equal so either of the 3 shows should be concerned.

I prefer my mechs to be more realistic in size(aside from Gurren Lagann for obvious reasons) which is why I have always prefered shows like Escaflowne for mech fights.
Yeah, I really liked the mecha control scheme in Escaflowne

Thanks kindly for the nod there too Phroxen. :3 I'm about to do my little list here and yeah, not going to deny that there are a handful of deconstructions on it since it is a genre that makes my heart flutter. So learning of ones I haven't heard about before? Totally game for it.
Just finished my coffee and probably didn't sleep as well as I should so this might get derp but here are at least ten series that mean a lot to me. I'm bypassing numbers completely just because I'm not so good at numbering things I adore since once I start thinking about them, the order keeps shifting.
--Madoka Magica/Rebellion (I know, you're absolutely shocked right now to see it here. Not like I haven't spent the last year not shutting up about it. Not only do I love it for its deconstruction of a genre that I watched an awful lot in my childhood, but the relation aspect to it pulled me back from a rather dark place in my life, so there's a lot of meaning there for me.)
--Shojou Kakumei Utena (Very important series to my heart. The start of my "Don't judge a series by how it looks" as I originally just figured it was another magical girl series (not a bad thing as I enjoy the genre, I just don't actively hunt it out). Glad to be proven wrong there)
--Princess Tutu (Another looks can be deceiving sort of series. The heavy use of two of my favorite ballets (the Nutcracker Suite and Swan Lake) helped to initially set my love for it. Much like Utena and even the first few episodes of PMMM, the first season of PT plays things fairly straight, then the second comes around and turns everything on its head)
--Black Lagoon (Plenty of fun action, a dose of rather wonderful philosophical viewpoints, an amazing cast and one of the best dubs ever. I still feel a bit empty now that I'm caught up)
--Galaxy Express 999 (Leiji Matsumoto's works mean a lot to me, most specifically GE999 because it was one of the first series I ever remember having an emotional reaction on me. The art by today's standards might not have aged well but I love his style so much and it'll always mean a lot to me)
-- Kill la Kill (I went into it hearing a ton of angsting over fanservice and thus wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it. I know it's not a series for everyone but it surprised me way more than I was expecting and much like BL, I still don't have anything that quite scratches the same sort of itch)
--Neon Genesis Evangelion/End of Evangelion/Rebuilds of Evangelion (I'm lumping them all together though End of Eva is the highest point for me so far. There's a story here in that I first watched the series and EoE shortly after I turned twenty and while I enjoyed it, there wasn't quite an emotional reaction or connection aside from loving deconstructions. I rewatched EoE and the Rebuilds a little before my 29th birthday and had the realization that life experience had caused me to realize that I relate an awful lot to the cast these days, for better or worse).
-- Shin Sekai Yori (Antagonists are something that gives me life when they're done in a way that really works with my mind, grey ones? Yes, perfect. In saying that, SSY has what I'd very easily consider to be one of the best antagonists I've ever experienced. A compelling world that keeps you guessing on the societal motives and an amazing protagonist)
--Mawaru Penguindrum (I'm an Ikuhara fangirl through and through, so I jumped all over it once it was first announced. Can we change fate, or is everything truly predetermined? I really should rewatch it too since it's been a few years)
--Psycho Pass (At least season 1, I haven't watched the second yet. Amazing cast, fantastic soundtrack and a dystopian society hidden under the 'good for the people' mindset that reminds me why I have a weakness for such settings when they're done well)
Honorable mentions that I still adore deeply:
--Noir (It introduced me to Yuki's work and since she's my music queen these days, I'm forever thankful.
--Read or Die (Mostly the OVA but what I watched of the tv series was fab too)
--Sailor Moon (Much like with DBZ, the two series were a huuuuuge part of my childhood and I do consider them gateways into me getting into the anime world)
--Boogiepop Phantom (Amazing soundtrack, fascinating world, the main thing that kind of hurts it imho is the fact that the anime doesn't explain certain aspects all that well, but I suppose that's mostly because it started off as Light Novels which go more into detail on things. Thankfully the most important LN has been translated)
--Kaiba (A mostly unknown little gem that I do truly adore. It could have gone up top in the main list quite easily)
Phew. I think that about covers it but I might edit things later. That's the most effort I've put into a post around here in a while. ![]()

Since SOMEONE asked for a top 10 post I suppose I can do one this time since I didn't last time around. First time I do one in quite a while so it should have at least two shows that were not there last time
10. Kill La Kill - Even if there at some point come a day this show fall of the list it will always be a show that I completely love and will not forget!
9. Clannad - In large part due to After Story being phenomenal and making me feel stuff and then feel more stuff. This show is awesome
8. Death Parade - Didn't expect to like this show nearly as much as I do but it just got everything that I want and more. Some brilliant character arcs!
7. LotGH - Feel a bit bad for the show being only 7th when it got more than enough quality in it to be 1st. Was a true blast to binge watch and I would do it again
6. Fate/Zero - Beautiful, exceptionally well made show that get very high scores on all areas and introduced me to Fate which makes me appreciate it even more!
5. FMAB - The show with almost few flaws and insane quality all over and the only reason it's not higher is because the other shows find a "niche" within me.
4. Monogatari: Second Season - Story, characters, OST and art are all just brilliant and I completely love the show. I so would love to watch it fresh again
3. Chihayafuru - A show that has done character growth better than almost all shows I've watched and it managed to makte karuta fun to watch and that's hard!
2. Shin Sekai Yori - The show that likely got my favorite protagonist and one of the most interesting worlds that I've encountered to date.
1. Puella Magi Madoka Magica - It's there. Not going anywere. It's the best
Best top 10 list made in the last few days IMO tbh >_> keep it up Rah
