Too bad it would be damn near impossible to make me use something other then a PMMM avi XD
I get people to watch Kamen Rider.
And Cross Ange.
I have the power to do anything.
I want.
Yup.
It is rated higher than the FMA manga so that should count for something.
I'm done with what the first season of UBW covered. It's really interesting to see how different a few things were handled compared to the show
Starting episode 9 of NHK and
Ok. The thing came out
I will assume Guts won. Because everyone loves Guts in here.

Interesting.
Never heard of it myself. Do let us know, once you eventually read it.
Mind made up on continuing with the VN or experiencing the anime?
I'm still pondering it. There are certain benefits from both routes. Leaning towards continuing but it's far from certain
I'm gonna go with Top 5 for now since I can't think of the last 5 as that will probably have to wait 'till tomorrow ![]()
5. Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Death is certain, it’s hour uncertain.”“Bide your time. Hold out hope.
Gankutsuou is an anime that is loosely based off The Count Of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas(You know the french guy that wrote The Three Musketeers) is a tale of revenge and deception of a man who had been deceived by those he thought were his friends and the story of a young man who will learn the truth. It carries a unique 3D-like artwork, which grants the anime this surreal futuristic look on a classic story that originally took place in a 17th century setting. It's drama as we know it best -- It’s full of families falling out and daughters being married off and old colleagues coming back to seek their revenge and maybe he’s a vampire now, all classic soap opera dramatics. What makes it really stand out and absorbing to watch is the presentation. It’s so grandiose, with its shifting layers and total abandoning of the laws of physics and scale, creating some of the most marvellous costumes and jaw-dropping spectacles. And even through all this, there’s something wonderfully animeabout it too. You have to love Japan for re-creating a classic 19th century novel where two characters engage in a duel and turning it into cyber future Paris and the two characters duel in mechas shaped like suits of armour. It also has one of the most intriguing villains of all time, whose manipulations and scheming for vengeance is as loathing to watch as it is fascinating.
4. Baccano
DEFINITIONS OF:
baccano (bark-ga-no) v. 1, a sudden very loud noise, 2. brooklyn accents, 3. awesome
What do you get if you took the likes of Quentin Tarantino, David Chase and Guy Richie, placed them all into a blender and proceeded to mash the remains into a fine pink powder, and snorted it all off on a worn out mahogany table? Well, first you'd probably get a throatful of dead tv-producers, then the federal police would probably want to talk to you, and your italian immigrant neighbour would probably yell something along the lines of "Che cosa è con tutto questo baccano?". What you'd probably won't get is Baccano! One of the greatest unchronological narratives in anime, more easily required from your local Amazon, you stupid pleb.
Baccano is more or less the illegitimate off-spring of Guy Richie & Tarantino, it even does that same thing Richie's Snatch does, by introducing the characters through freeze frame graphical images, with quirky names like Jimmy Ninecocks, in the case of Baccano, Jacuzzi Splot.
~
All of the characters ranges from charismatic, to quirky and funny, to badass, to mysterious -- Who's the protagonist? Ladd Russo, no wait, that conductor guy, no wait it's probably the little girl.. or maybe the young gangster with the fedora? The red haired girl, Ennis? The comedic Bonnie & Clyde-type Isaac & Miria? No.. all of them are main characters, because they all make up the story of Baccano. The obvious inspiration taken from the likes of Tarantino's Rersevoir Dogs & Pulp Fiction is the unchronoligical narrative, along with some heavy philosophical waxing, as the sociopaths tends to utter a lot of dialogue, that usually ranges between demented monologuing and heavy philosophical speech. Again, like Tarantino, the characters can make the most mundane thing be the most interesting you've heard about in a while. Baccano takes no hostages, and the story is actually quite clever, more than most people think, as it is pieced together bit, by bit, in such a way that the audience is required to pay close attention. But much like Snatch, or the Big Lebowski, Baccano isn't about anything in particular -- It's as much about a train robbery as it is about a crazy world domination plot by immortal alchemists, as it is a quirky adventure of Isaac & Miria's extravanganza. Most anime pale in comparison to what Baccano accomplished and it can pretty much be recommended to anyone.
3. Steins Gate
A close battle between Stein's Gate or Baccano for the third place, but I decided to pick Stein's Gate simply because I never realized how much this anime would get to me as soon as it did. On the top of that, it's also a time travel story, perhaps THE time travel story, bringing the whole concept into the 21st story. Stein's Gate is more or less a modern take on time travel, beforehand I've seen stories that deal with memory manipulation (Eternal Sunshine), choice, consequence & chaos theory (Mr. Nobody), but I haven't seen as many time-travel centric stories as I'd like, per-se outside of the old b-flicks and one exception called Safety Not Guaranteed from 2012, which discusses the possibility of it happening in a down-to-earth manner, and whether it actually occurs is debatable in of itself. Stein's Gate, however, is straight up time travel -- It's multi-verse, like BioShock, which is where the psychological aspect of tragic proporsions hits main character, Okabe, voiced by the amazing J. Michael Tatum in the dub, as he persistently tries to alter an outcome that can't be altered -- The outcome itself is a tragedy functions more or less as drive of the time lines, no matter which universe he enters, it'll always happen. It's not so much the interesting implications behind the anime's concept of time travel that is interesting as it is the study of regular late-teens who are in over their heads, and how this affects them mentally -- Most of all, the time travelling affects Okabe the most given that he's the conduit who has to travel between timelines, keeping all the memories of every tragedy that has happened, which would break lesser men.
Without getting ahead too much, as I've already been preparing a proper study of the anime, I'll keep things short from here. The entire localization script was written by none other than J Michael Tatum himself, bringing these characters to life in such a way that a western audience will be able to familiarize with their troubles and routines. Tatum succeeds at making these characters feel very relateable without the necessity having them all constantly utter things like "Nee-san" or "senpai" whatever. It's gratifying and excellent. Finally, as a time travel story, it succeeds at following its own set of strict rules, which are build properly in such a way that the common viewer will be able to follow up with what is going on.
The characters are generally all likeable, and the pacing suits the surprising transformation from perceived comedy to heavy psychological drama. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world where madness is probably the only way to come out of it as sane.
2. Cowboy Bebop
What can possibly be said here? Well, lots of things really and I'm still working on that, but for now, how about this. The anime carries itself with some of the most stylish soundtracks I've ever heard. Its bombastic trumpets and eerie saxs, complimenting the diva singing Mai Yamane in the likes of Real Folk Blues, perfectly settling on that dirty-gritty-futuristic-noir frame of mind that is Bebop. Instead of being a story about a world, a journey, it's story about characters as they go about their business as inter galactic bounty hunters -- Circumstances brings the likes of ex-triad Spike Spiegal, femmefatale Faye Valentine, ex-cop Jet & girl-genius Ed; Together they make up the crew of the Bebop, as they travel on bounty-related adventures throughout the galaxy -- All of it, ranging from the emotionally heavy stuff like the revelation of Faye's past, to the surreal-psychologically-tragic-trip of the Pierrot and the action heavy baggage that anti-hero Spike Spiegal carries along recurring villain, Vicious. But like all things in Bebop, you're gonna carry that weight.
1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
In a similar fashion to that of the Last Airbender, Fullmetal draws heavy inspiration from both the Eastern & Western cultural heritage; All the way down to the worlds most horrific displays of cruelty for poignancy points of course. Fullmetal, as it is, is both cruel & heartwarming, it can go from being gritty serious to lighthearted upbeat in regular intervals without feeling quirky or much of a mess. It's a story of two brothers, somewhat similar to that of Astrid Lindgren's The Brothers Lionheart, as they venture on a journey to recover something they've lost. On that journey, they meet, greet and befriend a wide array of interesting characters, none of them who are pointless or left to obscurity, with their own strives and motivations and development -- All of it weaves together so well that nothing is left to be forgotten. In truth, there's nothing better than Brotherhood.
Interesting.
Never heard of it myself. Do let us know, once you eventually read it.
I'll be sure to do so when I have read it.
Its awesome.
I'm on the 10th day now.
You should do the mind of steel bad ending.
It's one of the best bad endings in the game.
I'm gonna start heavens feel now. I better not get trauma from this.
Oh don't worry Liam.
We were all pulling your leg.
HF is one of the happiest routes in the VN.

Your a terrible liar.
Heh, I could never make a top whatever list. I'm too moody to give definite rankings, one day I might prefer something mature/serious, the next I'm just looking for plain silly fun.
I'd have to make seperate top rank lists for each mood I may have and I'm too lazy for that work.
Your a terrible liar.
Dont worry about it. Its not as scary as everyone makes it out to be
I can't help but be suspicious of you now.
Your a terrible liar.
In all seriousness, if you like Sakura the route is very worthwile.
I mean it's very worthwile even if you don't like her but even moreso if you do.
Also, make sure to see the 'Mind of steel' and 'Sparks Liner High' bad endings.
I can't help but be suspicious of you now.
Smart, very smart
I've heard he get's a lot of **** in the manga already.
Regardless, the more they explained about Guts in the video, the more of a Gary Sue he comes off as.
He also beat Night Terror in under a minute. Which doesn't happen. I don't care who you are. That does not happen.
Whatever, Tony Stark vs. Lex Luthor is next. So that's cool.
I am surprised no one has mentioned The Seven Deadly Sins. I thought it had a good mix of action/comedy/DBZ level of destruction.

I like Sakura. I also like Illya and Rider and they apparently play a large role too.
I'm planning on viewing all the bad endings for the tiger dojo's anyways.
I can't help but be suspicious of you now.
Good good.

I'm good with words, so here's my review:
Too long, didn't watch.
Gintama 265 episodes.
#getonitslevelLOTGH.
Ok. The thing came out
Ugh.
Glad Guts won.
But ugh.
I really did wish Nightmare knocked him down a peg.
Lord knows he deserves it.
Knocked down?
Guts gets the worse out of everybody in the world in the manga.
If you hate him.
You'll love that basically everything about his life sucks and will suck.
Regardless, the more they explained about Guts in the video, the more of a Gary Sue he comes off as.

Gotta admit never thought that Brotherhood would've been your number one.
