There are some good parts in the fate route in the VN, sadly they are spread out too thin and after a good scene you need to deal with BS.
Pretty much this. I would love a remade fate route that fixes ****.

I always thought visual novels and manga were the same thing...
It does however, give us a glimpse at everyone's favorite physician.
Dr. Gilgamesh.
Be careful of the fees tho, I hear they are heart stopping.
Oh, you haven't watched it yet?House says it spoils a lot. Not sure how much of it spoils myself since I plan on watching it a bit after HF
RUDEBe careful of the fees tho, I hear they are heart stopping.
So the route I should take is VN, SN, then Zero?
One of the big problems with fate/ is the lack of an easy entry point. Zero? that spoils stuff. UBW? it would be difficult to understand. Read the VN? Then you have to go through the fate route.

If you're okay with reading a VN then yes that is the best option.
That is assuming SN refers to Ufotable's UBW adaptation.
Well, when you say SN do you mean the Ufotable UBW or Deen's Fate route? So the route I should take is VN, SN, then Zero?
Dear God did I spend a long time on the Wiki while I watched Zero.Hah, true. I also recall listening to a guy stating how hard it really is to fully comprehend the Nasuverse, since it is so extensive.
"Seriously, you could take one week summer course in everything Nasuverse related, and then you may have SOME info on everything it delves into!!"

The nasuverse is very extensive indeed.
I still learn new things from time to time.
And when Mahoyo will get translated (tranlation never) we will even have more nasuverse information.
If you ever intend to watch the DEEN anime, do that first. Because it's decent enough if you don't know how much better it could've been. But once you've read the VN or seen any of ufotable's stuff, it's unwatchable....
Well, when you say SN do you mean the Ufotable UBW or Deen's Fate route?
Cause if you do the whole VN, then surely you can jump right into UBW and skip the Deen BS, no?
I am guessing Ufotable and Deen are companies who make them, so I don't know. I am as confused as hell atm.

Sorry. Of the current stay night animes, we have:
-The Fate Route (aka the biggest turd ever), which was produced/animated by Studio Deen
-The Unlimited Blade Works route, the current and ongoing anime, produced/animated by Ufotable
If you read the entire Stay Night Visual novel, you will basically get all the info from The Fate Route, the UBW Route, and the Heaven's Feel route.
My point was that if you read the SN novel first, you can simply avoid the really bad Fate Route that was produced by Studio Deen and jump right into the ongoing UBW anime series.

Also don't watch it dubbed.
Despite the pretty good cast, the thing is narmy as ****.
Fate/Zeros Dub is pretty great though.

Yeah. Deen were the studio behind the first FSN anime, based around the "Fate" route through the game. It suffered from a) adapting the weakest of the three routes and b ) not being a fantastic adaptation of that route.
Ufotable are another studio, that began working with Type-Moon (the company behind FSN) on an adaptation of one of Nasu's (the lead writer) early works, Kara no Kyoukai. This was so damn good, they were then employed to make an anime of Fate Zero (the prequel to FSN, based on a book written by the Urobutcher), which in turn was successful enough (and an accurate adaptation) that they got to make an anime of FSN, based on the UBW route.
And then there's all sorts of other spin of stuff for Fate Stay Night (games, visual novels, manga etc), as well as another franchise set in the same universe - Tsukihime - which is yet to recieve an anime.
Fate/Zeros Dub is pretty great though.
Rider's dub voice..........

TY for the clarification.
So bascially, I should read the VN first, so I can skip the crappy Anime which I remember somewhat. Go into UBW series, then go to zero.

I would probably go VN > FZ > UBW. Once you've read the VN, you'll have the stories and information covered, so it's nice to have the continuity from FZ to UBW when it comes to watching it.
Gil's dub voice...
*pukes*
I fully endorse this reaction to that voice
People watch dubbed anime?
