Yeah...no. Shirou didn't do that at all in the VN. He was very calm when he jumped down and protected her. There was no silly screaming and yelling. It just made him look like an idiot.

I've heard that the Saber/Caster scene will be longer in the BD.

 

Oh and certain scenes will be a little more gory. VN'ers will know what I mean.

 

I guess i'll just wait for the BD before watching UBW. They'll probably be out by the time I get there anyways.

I don't mean that he shouldn't do it but it's handled better in the VN.

In the VN he jumps down without alerting anyone to his presence and immediately counters Kuzuki while in the anime he is the one attacking Kuzuki.

Don't know how it is done in the VN, but in the anime Kuzuki is about to attack Rin before Shirou screams. When he does he draws his attention to him, as can be seen with him haltering immediately after Shirou steps forward.

In the betrayal scene, Shirou never yelled, screamed or shouted Rins name. When Kuzuki went to attack Rin, Shirou jumped down, without saying anything, counters Kuzuki  calmly says trace on then attacks him driving him back. He then tells Rin calmly they have to fight. They changed it in the anime

It's been ages since I've read the VN, so I might've just forgotten but

was most of the Medea stuff at the beginning new? I don't remember it going into nearly that much detail on her old master. Not that I'm complaining by any means. Ever since playing HA, she's been one of my favourite Nasuverse characters. Such a tragic backstory, I kinda find myself wanting her to win these days. She deserves it....

In the betrayal scene, Shirou never yelled, screamed or shouted Rins name. When Sema went to attack Rin, Shirou jumped down, without saying anything, counters Kuzuki then attacks him driving him back. He then tells Rin calmly they have to fight. They changed it in the anime

I'm referring to Shirou's consistency as a character, which you are stating is wrong.

 

In Season 1, when Rin and Shirou ambushes Kuzuki (which goes horribly wrong) Rin is knocked out. What does Shirou do? He screams "Tohsaka" while he attacks Kuzuki.

 

Season 2, Rin is about to get attacked, Shirou does the exact same thing. 

 

I actually would find it strange if Shirou were to suddenly be extremely calm in a situation like that. He has the ability to stay level headed (like in the incident in school) but he is very emotional when loved ones are concerned.
