I'm referring to Shirou's consistency as a character, which you are stating is wrong.

 

In Season 1, when Rin and Shirou ambushes Kuzuki (which goes horribly wrong) Rin is knocked out. What does Shirou do? He screams "Tohsaka" while he attacks Kuzuki.

 

Season 2, Rin is about to get attacked, Shirou does the exact same thing. 

 

I actually would find it strange if Shirou were to suddenly be extremely calm in a situation like that. He has the ability to stay level headed (like in the incident in school) but he is very emotional when loved ones are concerned.

That's Ufotable changing Shirou, again that is not in the Vn and I would argue it's OOC since one of Shirous biggest strengths is being able to cut off his emotions in combat and act calm(something even Rin points out)

Also, I'd recommend Owari no Seraph for those of you interested. I'm actually really liking it so far. Music has been pretty spot on as well. And I really liked the opening that premiered today as well.

Certainly, but the anime is a different medium and should be judged as such. His actions are consistent with what the anime establishes, and as I pointed, Shirou is level headed during serious moments, but aren't immune to them (his reaction to Berserker, Caster on the Bridge, facing Caster for the second time, etc.) Shirou acts a lot more bravely than what a normal human would in extreme situations (most people would ****** their pants), but he still isn't able to fully control them. Which is fine, since it only makes him more human.

I assume that this battle is what is referenced in the opening when we see Lancer fighting Caster on the highway.
