Is it just me, or is Gil more 'gentle' in his mannerism? He hasn't been given much screen time so I might be grasping at straws, but from his few interactions and remarks, in addition to being surprisingly tolerate towards Shinji, I can't help but feel something different about his personality. Hardly a substantial change, since he is the same person to the core, but he doesn't strike me similarily as in Zero.
I'm also curios what he has been doing these past 10 years. Whether he has been sitting on his ass or traveling the world. I assume th former, but hope for the latter.

Time and budget usually tend to be two sides of the same coin. I will say that some of the cut out stuff i'm aware of sounded incredibly interesting. (Illya route, Join Shinji route)

Trying to figure out what makes the guy tick, and to see whether he is as stereotypical and one dimensional in the whole SN, as his Fate route self.

Which sucks hard.

He's no where near as awful in UBW as he is in Fate. "Lulz I want to rape Saber".

Hoping that what UBW does is actually good, instead of being "better than Fate".

In fact, Gils goal in UBW is interesting and not fundamentally evil at all, what he is doing is in fact something that would please one side of the World(Gaia)

That is comforting to hear. His little monologue in S1 piqued my interest, so naturally I'm curios what it stands for and isn't just some meaningless philosophical BS.

The only good thing besides some battles about the Fate route is the basement scene.

 

Fate route didn't even manage to impress me when Emiya played.

The aftermath of Berserker and Archer where we see a semblance of sanity from him and we see that he completely respects Archer as a warrior as he was able to kill him 6 times in a diffrent method(this is how we know UBW or Nine lives was not used) and that he wished he was in a different class to give such a warrior proper respect. Plus seeing Illya lose her **** at Archer XD
