Clone tries to watch iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, while pining for the 765 Pro Girls to come back.

 

Episode 1: ​"Who is in the pumpkin carriage?"  Thoughts

So, this is going to be a little unfair, but OG iM@S basically had me hooked from episode 1. It had the concept nice and laid out, and introduced all the main characters in pretty much rapid succession, allowing you to pick up on who each of them were.

However, Cinderella Girls starts off alot slower, introducing the 2 main girls (I assume), Uzuki Shimamura and Rin Shibuya. There's nothing wrong with this of course. It allows the show to be more focused. Though whether it's interesting is another matter entirely.

Particularly because the two main girls remind me of Haruka and Chihaya so much it's not even funny (But Chihaya > Rin).

 

Being honest. I'm not feeling CG yet, just not enough to really suck me in yet. As I continue we'll see if it improves. But there are some things to like, I really like the art style of the A-1 iM@S stuff, so the girls remain cute as ****. Also it's funny that the producer is the most intimidating looking person ever. Even though he comes off as a major creeper when he's pretty much harassing Rin to join the Cinderella Girls project. So points away from that one.

 

Ultimately, this is a lackluster opening to the series, and I hope it gets better from here.

And I would like to remind the thread I watched the show over a year ago, which I'm sure is before Lotion and Rah watched it. Good job Colaman.

 

Just saying iDOLM@STER is as good as the show in terms of narrative ability, and regular entertainment value.

 

Also it's less about the fact that they are idols, but actually shows what the job entails.

Clone struggles in vain to get through Cinderella Girls while hoping Chihaya-Senpai notices him.

 

Episode 2: Yo, this castle is pretty ****** nice.

The rest of the cast is introduced in this one, and thankfully, none of them are exact copies of the 765Pro girls.

Not that they're any better though, in fact some come off as fairly annoying. I really hope the one that's convinced she's a cat doesn't talk very much.

But as always, they are all cute girls.

Like this one as an example.

So anyway, aside from that. There wasn't much to this episode, but it was by no means bad.

Just a bit bland.

The three main girls (Uzuzki, Rin, and Mio), are shown their new offices. So most of the episode is devoted to them looking in awe of their surroundings. Through a montage of course.

 

So the Cinderella project is all put together, and the first show of the main 3 is coming up. So we'll see how things progress from here.

The only thing we knew In the VN is that Cater's master got jealous from Casters magic abilities and that she ended up tricking her master into wasting his 3 command seals.
