Finally decided to give the Aria series a shot. Expecting a whole lot from it.
Virus Buster Serge is probably up next though. Will be interesting to see if it's hilariously bad or just tediously bad.

^^ Do you do reviews? Or have a myanimelists or something. Cause you've brilliant taste. :D

Thanks for the compliment C;
Recently made a MAL profile but have yet to update my lists properly so I won't hand it out just yet ;) Need to brace myself to track down all the shows I've watched and try to remember what I thought about them ^^
Will make sure to send the link your way once I feel more secure with it though.

Writing short reviews is something I would like to try. Will possibly dabble into such things when I get my MAL profile up and running I guess.

I made the account once myself, and even added a few series to the list - but sometime about a year ago I stopped watching anime for quite a long time. So I had left it as was - with very few entries.

Anyway, if someone else has a list/user/site, then please, do share it. I for one would be super interested. :)

^^ Won't argue with that. :)

But I'm actually thankful for any review and rating - if they're done knowingly. It usually gives me some good or interesting info, like what series are potentially interesting, and what are others' tastes like.

A rating is just a rating, not much of a review.

A good review should be a mix of opinion and know-how on what you are reviewing. And hope it shows to people how good, bad or interesting the thing you are reviewing is.

Yeah, I didn't say anything about good reviews - I just said that ratings and reviews are mostly interesting, even if they are not very well done (hate-speeches and love letters are a different matter, of course - though even these have sometimes something of interest to them).

So as far as I'm concerned, everyone should write reviews and post ratings (systematically and knowledgeably) - it makes for interesting information at the very least.

I know, I was just talking about it for the sake of talking it.=]

And I don't know how good "EVERYONE" making reviews is...;)

Have you tried any writing on the matter? Anime-planet.com, MAL, anidb, or any other accounts of interest? ;)

About DBZ... After I finished the Freeza arc (with pain and tedium), I was moderately excited by the Earth-centered new plot - but didn't start watching it really. I downloaded the movie "Dead Zone" instead,
so that I could get the story behind Garlic junior better (after weeks I found some time to get a hold of the dual-audio release - the japanese version is surprisingly missing in the majority of uploads - though the dub is very much horrible, and a travesty).

It didn't help in regards to understanding what exactly happened (really very hasty pace and story - which was welcome albeit unnatural after the pointlessly slow/dull Freeza episodes) - but it was really awesome.

I had forgotten the awesomeness and attitude of the real Dragon Ball, and the real humor-filled substance that's associated.

I mean, just look at the scene where Gohan gets drunk, or moments like the hung-over Gohan peeing on Kuririn's head. Awesome!

The last sentence is with a hint of self-irony and/or absurdity, hence I feel inclined to explain to those who have not seen the anime: the Gohan'n'Kuririn thing was surprising more than anything else. Certainly not intentional, from the perspective of Gohan, and all in well-mannered (and natural-like) good-willed context -> Gohan was a child who got drunk from an apple.

Yeah I never got why they did a filler arc years later to tie in with the Dead Zone movie.

I mean out of all the Dragon Ball movies that one is at least watchable but that filler arc is really meh to me.

But you are close to the best filler episode, the one where Chi-Chi makes Goku and Piccolo Jr. learn how to drive cars.=]

That Respectable Muscle guy looks almost exactly like Duncan, if Duncan started eating five steaks a day and bench pressing cows.

I finished Darker Than Black (english dub) about a week ago and I must say it was pretty good. Yin is probably my favorite main character.

Image IPB I lol'd.

He is Sig Curtis, husband to Izumi Curtis the alchemist.

And you know, if Duncan did return I'd enjoy seeing him look a bit more like Sig. Not saying he has to, but if he did look more like Sig I wouldn't mind. Though he kinda was a bit.... beefier in some forms:

Slightly beefier, anyway. Not to the extent of Sig, but slightly beefier then his in-game self.

I support cow benchpressing Duncan to appear in DA3!

Has anybody mentioned Desert Punk yet? There are some distasteful elements (the main character's a big perv, and there's a "big boob" character that makes Bleach look like it ain't tryin'), but it's got the best scum-sucking loser protagonist who is nonetheless interesting to watch I've seen yet. Also very funny, if you can accept the above.

Personally, I haven't minded big-boobs characters since I noticed that ten-year-olds are used as fan service characters. At least Asuka and Rei are going through puberty, Japan.

There are a lot worse big-boob characters/series out there than Desert Punk and Bleach... :innocent:

I've been pretty burnt out on anime lately, (As in the past few years lately) but there are still the occasional gems that I find that keep me at least partially attatched to the medium.
'
For example, Mini-skirt pirates. Also known as bodacious space pirates, or "Minisuka Pairētsu" in Japan.

The name is completely misleading, in a good way. Its an intelligent, fun and cute take on pirates and the sci fi genre in general. Following the adventures of the main heroine, Marika as she inherits a pirate ship and crew (depsite being a completely normal, if above average, girl.)

Other than a few pacing problems I encourage anyone with an interest in the Sci-Fi genre, (or hell even cute girls) yet are tired of the moe-blob to take a look.
