Just finnished The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I can't do it any justice with just a few words to describe it, but I sadly suck at writing long posts.

 

Saying it was amazing would be an understatment. It belongs right there in a list with films like Fight Club, Mulholland Drive and what not.

 

10/10 Would watch again.

I skimmed through your post and accidently thought you said that Haruhi has some similarities to Fight Club which made me go all "what seriously!?"

The anime is quite well liked here (and generally in the anime community) so gonna see if I can tackle it at some point as well.

I think the narration style shares similarities with Fight Club. It actually was my first reaction when I started watching the anime in the first place

 

I definitely recommend it! I'd say its quite unique in its approach.
