any1 watching Maoyu? Its an excellent deconstruction of the whole hero vs demon king paradigm in most jrpg games. Ive taken a liking to it ever since I joined a game called nationstates where you control your own nation but I digress.

Leave Nationstates while you still can!  Or never post in the forum.

anyways yeah I like Maoyu Maou Yuusha. Good show, though should have been made into more eps to be longer. But I know how it will end. Oh well no biggie final ep is this week.

Wait a second here. You're not going to get out of this easy. Please explain why.

To me GitS is among the best fiction I have ever witnessed. The artwork quality, the animation quality, the characters, the plot and all those philosophical questions that are adressed in that work, the soundtrack, all of that toprated in my opinion.

And whilst GitS:SAC only continued the setting it still captured the spirit and went on to be a marvelous work too.

@Filament:
Go for it, 2nd Gig is a worthy succession of GitS:SAC and arguably has the better overarching storyplot.

Yeah I just watched the first episode of 2nd gig. I like the Metro Goldwyn-style Tachikoma outro, lol. Also like how they throw in scenes (they did it in season 1 too) that seem to be an homage to scenes from the movie (or maybe it's all from the manga originally), like the Major shooting from stealth through a skyscraper window and then falling away like a ghost.

One thing I don't like that I feel like hurts continuity is how, well... how there isn't continuity between the different media. SAC is a different universe than the movies is a different universe than the manga. Apparently the new movie is a different universe too.

Thats why right there. And why I don't like most time travel based anime. Nothing good comes from it. Also the thing I liked the most in GiTS was the American Empire when it showed up. Most of the chracters and the technology in use felt unnatural and Wrong to me. ITs why I loved the eps when it bit them on the ass or normal humans came in from time to time to say "Hey we can still kick your ass Japan". Short of two guys on the cops side I didn't like most of the others. The Major frankly was a ****. And the Little Machinegun robot tanks? Yeah lets give them cute voices as they MG people down.

Plus how the department abused its authortiy and the general lawlessness inspite of such meassures reeks of incompetance. As they say  "Its just not my cop of tea".

Beelzebub might be the greatest show I've watched in a while.

And I'm only on episode 2!

Oh, and the new CiTS looks like it would work well as a origin story.

I actually dislike most origin stories. They feel contrived and unrealistic. In real life, people deeply connected in their work didn't have an idea about one another nor any connection, going a coule of years back, moreso in their teens. Plus these origin stories mostly think of some ad hoc reason for a jumpy and unnatural start to things, which is needless to say not-so-very-believable.

Besides, this way the center-point shifts from actual themes to some "facts" about the fictional universe(s).

Two great shows ended today Sakurasou and Girls Und Panzer.  Heres hoping to S2's from both. Now for my comments on both!

Sakurasou, so much kissing but not from the pair I wanted to see the most ugh. Seems like its shooting for a S2 and that the VA would have a LI. I could spoil it given what I've read from LN's, but who knows if we will even see a S2.

If the spoiler tag worked on here I would happily post at least in reguards to what happens with Shiina at the very end.

Now onto Girls Und Panzer.

What a masterful use of tactics and the weapons on hand. The Tactic to take out the Maus was no surprise. Its top armor as of on all tanks is thin. What IS a surprise is how they did it. I suspected they would try using the tanks in a static Artillery Role.

However for a S2 I am REALLY hoping they get newer Tanks if there is a S2. It was only because of Unorthodox tactics they won. And even then such tricks only work once. Constantly in the show they had poor firepower and Poor Armor. It was only because of Luck and the Extra Armor placed on the Panzer IV they even survived. The Last Stand of the Tiger P however is plausable, there were several encounters during the War, more so on the Eastern Front that went just like this.

Its a great show, just be ready for the Anime factor, IE no one dies, you only see girls in the tanks (albit non-fanservicy) and nevermind how young teenage girls lift the huge shells in some of the larger tanks.

As a add-on there is a rumor that men arn't allowed the use of tanks, doing some ep reviews in EP 10 at the 14:39 Mark, you can see male soldiers manning tanks fighting WW2. IF thats the case then the males might have there own version of the club as well and the schools are split along sexual lines which is still seen in parts of Japan.

Is episode 12 out already? Gotta check.

And yeah, it's a great show. Though I mean great because I'm a tech-nut and love how detailed tanks, tank tactics and limitations are incorporated in that anime. If you're watching it for storyline and character development alone, you're doing it wrong.

Also, Anglerfish Dance.

Though, if I had to point out a single, most enjoyable thing, it wouldn't be the tanks ... it would be the inclusion of historical melodies. "Erika" for the german themed faction, "Grendier March" for the british themed one and most of them all a brilliant version of the russian themed "Katyusha" (fav'd that one right away on youtube and listen to it regularily, it's awesome!).

I'm a sucker for all things historical, you know.

edit://
Just watched episode 12. I can only say that Maus manouvre was epic trolling. Also hell yeah for Porsche Tiger ... and another historical fact gotten right, that's exactly what the Tiger excelled at, get into a suitable fire position and just stay there, blasting everything away.

Had some doubts the PzKpfW IV's cannon could penetrate the PzKpfW. V rear armor though, so I checked and yes, any upgunned verson could penetrate the 80mm non-slated armor in the rear.

Still stupid to do so, because in fact the side armor was only 60mm thick and wouldn't have necessitated such a crude manouvre (which should be impossible on such terrain, arrgh!) to get into a firing preferable position.

But I can always just be content to pretend they just blasted the Tiger's side armor and won the match that way.

Really hope there's going to be a second season, hopefully then with coldwar era tanks and maybe a third season with modern tanks. Would totally watch.

My ban is lifted! Yay! :D

I still haven't read Vol 13 of Bakuman, because it's the last one I own right now, and if I read it, I'll be all out again. Don't ask me how that makes sense, but it does, lol.
Also watched a few more episodes of Sakurasou. (Mwa-ha-ha, it's not over for me yet.)

Probably the most significant thing I've done regarding anime/manga recently is my creation of some actual storyboards of my own. That's about it though.

Bakuman's ending is a rip-off. At least they should show a big wedding. I feel like it ended very abruptly.

I heard it kinda cut-off, but I dunno any of the details. Regardless though, while I like Mashiro and Azuki's relationship, (hell, I like all of the characters in one way or another) I'm actually more interested in the aspects of the story that are meant to inform the reader on how the manga-creating process goes. At least for Jump anyway.

It's been very informative.

Yeah, the whole series was to lead up to a wedding and yet it was just ended right after the kiss. I like Bakuman because they're very informative about the world of manga making as well. As for as relationship, I'm the strange one who hope for Iwase and Akito endgame. :P

Yeah, but it just seems to compliment Akito's passive nature well. She seems more like a tsundere to me, and it's not a manga unless they have a tsundere. :P

I don't usually go for the official couples. In Toradora, I want Ruyji to end up with Ami.

I take it back. Iwase isn't crazy. You're the crazy one. ;P
I never tend to like the characters like that to be honest. I mean, I like tsunderes well enough, but characters like Ami... that's too much cold-heartedness for me to handle.

I mean, Minorin? Sure! She's adorable.

Hey, Taiga's constantly insulting and hitting Ryuji is not any better. Ami is not as bad as some fans think she is. She's hiding behind her facade because she simply wasn't as confident as Taiga, as evident with her stalker storyline. I find her a lot more tolerable than Taiga and definitely Minorin. Minorin's sunshine personality is very annoying to me.  . I really wanted for people to translate Toradora game on the PSP just so I could have Ryuji and Ami together.

Taiga's mean. Right? I mean, she punches Ryuuji in the face, and she never thanks him for all the hard work he does, etc. She abuses the hell out of the poor guy.
But she also kinda loves him. She's only like that to protect herself. Granted, that's not a great excuse for some of what she does, but at least she has a reason.

Ami just IS that much of an ice-queen. She doesn't really have a reason for anything bad she does other than to make someone feel like crap. She spends the entire time she's in that show just jabbing at everyone relentlessly when they try to be her friends, and her fake personality is even worse, because... well, it's fake. She's a fake.

She might've been the one who could see Taiga and Ryuuji for what they really were, but that didn't stop her completely awful personality from surfacing during that time. I honestly can't stand her.

The same could go for Taiga and Ryuuji. They were the only people she feels comfortable enough to be herself. She doesn't even show off her true self to her childhood friend. Taiga is a main character, so she has the benefit of being more developed. They also need to give Taiga a reason to justify her meanness or else people could not sympathize with her. Personally for me, Ami makes others feel bad because she herself feels bad. She doesn't feel very confident, and the only way for her to feel worthy is to bring others down to her level. I mainly also think that it's her defense mechanism. As a celebrity, she's being FORCED to put on a fake facade. She can't be herself because of her career is at staked. I don't fault her for that because I personally think she's lonely. People love her because of her fake personality, not because of who she truly is on the inside.
