Just to clarify, I haven't read that VN.

 

I read it on some review site and noticed that the art was very very similar.

The romance is great, I have no issues with it. Especially since it isn't completely "in your face" approach, wherein the only dialog between the characters revolve around the concept of love or something equally superficial. Their relationship is genuine, and while certain scenes are more there for comedic values, likes with this recent episode, it isn't out of touch from the narrative.

It would be another thing if every scene with them was like this.

 

Lancer is great, I just wish the scene was handled more...organically.

It was fine in the VN, many lines in the anime where either done better in the VN, not there in the first place and one whole line from Lancer about how he likes Rin is not even in that scene ,it happens later.
