He could have easiyl killed Shirou a hunderd times before

And while he is commanded to not attack Shirou, he doesn't really need that seal lifted. All he has to do is let Shirou get killed on his own or goad another servant into doing it for him.

There was nothing stopping him from letting someone else kill Shirou and he could just then murder everyone. It's not like Caster can stop his surprise attack.

 

The simpler answer is that he really doesn't want to kill Shirou, just get him to snap out of his self-destructive world-view.

Attacking him at the temple, from behind - he could have easily scored a fatal wound, but he didn't.

 

Like with Caster, what he DOESN'T do tells a lot.

Actually Caster could stop his surprise attack. It's noted in the VN that the only reason she couldn't protect herself and her master is because of Rin's attack.

 

You're right that he doesn't really want to kill Shirou but that doesn't take away that there is a bad ending where he kills Shirou

He does indeed. Though I'm in love with Rikiya Koyama's voice (Kiritisugu). Only recently heard he voices Kuze in GitS: 2nd GiG, so need to rewatch it sub next time.

Speaking of Fate and casting, I've mumbled at House a fair bit over the fact that I'm actually *really* impressed as far as the cast goes in general. I guess it just kind of amuses me in that everytime I meet a new servant, I can't help but feel their casting was perfect. Even outside of it though since I originally started reading it back before we had RN so I have to admit that the added VA really helps me to set the mood and there's not a single cast member I don't love their voice.

 

 

Also Tiger Dojo Rin is amazing. That is all.

I haven't really been able commit to any of em lately, I will watch four maybe five episodes then start up something else. It's a viscous cycle. -Archer really isn't as OP as you think. FSN Lancer, Gil (if serious), FSN Berserker, Saber would all be able to take him down. But as for what he is trying to achieve? Well a few things actually;

Saber can not win in a range fight against Archer or in UBW as it was made clear that if Shirou did not make his own rain of swords, Saber would be dead. Archer in UBW is just like Gil for her and we all know that the only reason why Saber won against Gil was Avalon. Archer was able to kill Berserker 6 times at half strength without UBW and Nine Lives. The only servants that would give him a true issue and would have a 1% chance of victory is Lancer and Rider at full strength. Everyone else, including Assassin and Gil(which depends on who gets their killing move off first or finishes it quicker) we already know he has the tools and skills to do it. This is why Archer is the most dangerous servant in the war as excluding Gil and Berserker, he is the only one that can truly kill every servant, with success rates varying. Everyone but Gil, Archer and Berserker have at least one servant they can't beat.

So, what is Archers true identity? I have to wonder because he seems OP as hell, especially when you consider who berserker was in FS.

I'm more grumpy that Miura has completely changed Casters character now nor did they show just how truly SHirou is broken(they skipped the whole Kotomine comparison....). That is not her motive and backstory Miura!
