Archer and Shirou however aren't the same person. Archer is potential future self of Shirou, has had his own experiences, is it's own person by virtue of Shirou not having had the same life. Even if we say that the physical similarity would make it easier, it still requires Shirou to acquire a skill that another person developed through a lifetime. That's not how learning works. Compare it to coyping a program from one computer to another. You may have all the data, but the registry entries don't fit, so your OS won't register the copied data as a valid installation and you can't use it.

But Shirou, can, because plot.

 

If that comparision isn't enough to explain my point, then I'd be happy to just agreeing on having different opinions.

The yoshiwara arc in Gintama was amazing .

 

Glad to see that even hundred episodes in it still manages to deliver these great arcs.

Given that a lot of Gintama's lolz come from references, the answer would be all of it.

 

Make no mistake though, it's still funny if you don't get it all. And I doubt no one but the creators actualy do get it all.

Theres a lot of it over 250eps and more is coming. Shonen mostly though the more anime you watch the more jokes you'll get. Same with games. It references dragon quest a lot.

As others have mentioned the more you've seen the better though it's not a must. Anything that's been decently popular over the years should cover plenty of the references

...nope. Oh well, at least I have plenty of other shows on my "plan to watch" list. I mean I would, but Dragon Ball Z is just about the only thing I've tried that I found more tedious than cross-class questing in Old Republic.
