You should give Lucky Star a shot next if you haven't and you really enjoy Watamote, because Konata Izumi is a lot like Tomoko except that she has a couple of friends and speaks what comes to mind regardless of the consequences (that makes them not sound alike, but they really are).

That only happens in the manga and not the anime, which is why I posted it. I won't spoil you. The manga is worth reading if you are into manga. I can PM you the link if you want me to. 

 

Lucky Star is best to watch after you have seen lots of anime, particularly The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It references tons of them. There's even a Moffle doll from Amagi Brilliant Park which they didn't do an anime to until last year.

Basically this. I gave up on it's plot the first episode.

To be fair, my high school experience didn't have any sort of overarching plot that connected everything together   I simply had to graduate, which is what the girls in Lucky Star are shown to be working towards when they do their homework.   

 

The show was really just about having a good time. There's even a moment where I was hit with major feels toward the end of the show.
