If I said the opening completely turned me off...
I couldn't understand your last post, it was confusing (not what I'm quoting). I'd recommend sitting through 2 or 3 episodes to get a feel for it. I put it off for so long because of the art style, but ended up having it grow on me and enjoying it. The opening is actually neat and you'll understand why if you watch the anime.

I just set up SVP (SmoothVideo Project) with CCCP a few days ago, and I have been watching a lot of anime and movies at 144 FPS on my 144hz monitor.
SVP works very similarly to your 120/240/480hz TV. It basically takes your 24 FPS video source and generates extra frames to fill in the gap between each frame. It does its job pretty well, but like most high refresh rate TVs, you still get some artifacts.
If you have a fast CPU and a decent video card, you should definitely check it out. Even at 60 FPS on a 60hz monitor, the difference it makes in anime and movies is pretty big. Especially when the camera pans at a higher speed, it makes the video completely smooth without much judders.
ffdshow is required by SVP, but I still prefer using LAV. So, the way I set it up is by installing CCCP and installing SVP along with ffdshow. I then disable all the codecs in ffdshow, leaving only "raw video" enabled in the ffdshow video setting. Therefore, LAV (which comes with CCCP) still does all the video and audio decoding. It works brilliantly.
Just remember, higher fps 1080p playback can kill your CPU, so you definitely need a good video card to assist it. ![]()

I finished Wolf Children, it was very touching. I don't really feel like doing a review of it, but I'd say that it hit all the right notes that it needed to. I'd give it an 8 out of 10, it's really good and pretty sad. It's definitely worth watching. The dilemma of having to choose between being a human or a wolf is an interesting one.
Edit: I was also pleased to watch something with a female protagonist for once and one who was a strong character that wasn't helpless at that.
*snip*
Good to see you ejoyed it.
Yes, the mother actually being a strong character in the story is also one of the very things I liked a lot.
I just finished watching Nanatsu No Tazai.
Nanatsu No Tazai is an anime that manages to execute the typical flashy powerups and long battles very well. As a matter of fact, I think this might be one of my favorite anime when it comes to power up style battles. The action scene were really done well.
But what the anime probably excels the most and even does better than its action scene has to be its great set of characters. There were no character that I particularly disliked. I didn't even dislike Elizabeth even though I normally do dislike her kind of character. The characters I ended up liking the most were Meliodas and Ban but if I had to choose a favorite between the two it would probably be Ban.

Overall I would recommend Nanatsu No Tazai to anyone who wants to watch an action/adventure anime with very likable characters. Worth a 9/10 in my book.

There's a PV trailer for Chaos Dragon
I'm still amused to this day that Butcher's character got genderbend.
EDIT: Oh wow. It got set to private the moment I posted it. Let me try and find another one.

I am such an effing idiot. Now I realize why I like Hunter x Hunter so much. The writer, Togashi, also wrote Yu Yu Hakusho, which is my number 1 anime of all time.
Now, if that's not a recommendation to watch YYH, Chewin, I don't know what is!

Glad to be posting again. I never really left, but I didn't have anything useful to add because I hadn't watched anime in over a week. I was busy focusing on my writing and some other stuff. I'll definitely have something to post about in a couple of days, because Chapter 77 of Watamote comes out. YAY!
