Otherwise it just didn't feel like it did the build up justice

I thought the last 1/3 was kind of weak in general mainly because

Didn't like the whole date episodes with the side characters much personally. The tension dropped significantly even if some of the individual arcs were alright. As a whole I didn't care for many of the side characters much either. They ranged from so-so to just annoying for me.

 

I watched it subbed (I usually do) don't know about the dub at all

I should state that I think most people do like the ending. I'm much harsher on it for my own reasons though so don't expect to agree with me

I was young and foolish. I wandered onto MAL without knowing any better and watched S;G because of how many people thought it was a masterpiece there. After that 1 anime I learned never to trust that site or its users again.

Got the Timid one down since I don't need 6 perfect IVs on that one.

 

But I want a 6IV Naive Froakie for physical moves.

Did promise bro that I would watch Silver Spoon and now I have!

 

It's a rather amusing show that manages to make agriculture fun to watch and a lot of that comes from the main character at the start being so ill-suited for the school and the entire field of agriculture. There's some good character growth to be found in him and some of it even affect the characters around him but he's the star that changes the most. The art style is well crafted which for once make horses and a few other animals look good and not alien. OST is the standard affair for this kind of show, pleasant but not memorable. A good option if one want an enjoyable, fun show to watch with a solid main character.
