He made Independence Day, StarGate, And that Movie that would actually be pretty decent if it wasn't called Godzilla.

 

Ok. I saw what Anno has done, but I don't know. I think there is a big difference between the two medias. Also, I liked Roland Emmerich's movies. They are quite good minus last one.

funny thing while serching for mahou sensen, i found mahou sensei. Its an anime about an elementary student whose smart enough to teach highschool where he gets perved on by highschool girls. Japan is wierd sometimes but Im actually curious to what the story is. Call it morbid curiousity, but is this anime any good? And if i remember correctly this had a sequel recently right?

Zilla 98 isn't so bad. But it had a Legacy it needed to uphold, but alot of elements, including the cheapskate bastards Toho were being were what ruined the film.

 

The original script isn't half bad.

 

But Toho limited how the Godzilla character was able to be shown, along with restricting the use of original Kaiju. And the price for the rights to Ghidorah, Mothra, and etc, were too high.

So they had to work with pretty much no creative freedom.

And that's how Zilla, That damn iguana was born.

 

Though tbh. You shorten the spines and there's a pretty decent update to Gorosaurus. But nobody cares about that goofball.

The one from the cartoon was cool though.

You do realize Godzilla is an allegory for Nuclear destruction right?

I can see that, but I also know radiation doesn't behave that way. It kills the creature instead, so all the Godzilla films never scared or depressed me because the possibility of it happening is zero.

 

Edit: I also don't mind nuclear destruction. I was raised to be a survivalist. Was disappointed when Y2K didn't happen.

Lolz. I was raised next to NORAD, so if there was to be a nuclear attack. That would be it making my fear of it dissipate.

Not desire. Just not care. You get used to the fact that you could die at any moment, so you become numb to it. When an actual event happens to someone else, you have no empathy anymore because you are used to it. /shrug You make the best out of a worst situation. I know that makes me sound like an *******, but it's the truth of the matter if you live close to a target like that.

 

 

 

Hence the allegory.
