This isn't about Shogo. Or are we just moving away from the whole "Akane is an idiot" thing? You live in a society where they tell you and teach you that everything is perfect and in harmony and blah blah blah and I doubt you would react in what we here would consider the most logical manner. Attributing real world world systems to fiction aside, these people have been bred by the system to the point where violence is practically foreign to them. The non reaction to somebody getting their face bashed in is proof of this.

 There is not much more to say about her being an idiot other then what I stated. I don't believe for a second that even in that fictional world a person couldn't think for themselves and act accordingly. The reason I mentioned Shogo is because he is one of the few that actually take action and think while the rest know what to do. They just don't do it.

 

 

Exactly, Akane is a child of her time and society. How she act and think will obviously be very different from how we do and judging her by our standards is quite silly.

 

I don't think it is silly at all to judge them by our standards. Logic is still Logic. It doesn't matter what time or world you love in. Killing him would be the logical thing to do.

Pretentious is just a buzzword in anime that people throw around to hate on stuff I find, as 99% of the time it has little creditability and these people have probably not read real novels that go even further into these subjects and never get labeled pretentious.

anime update, i dropped the mahou sensen anime u guys mentioned but I found this wierd anime where an alien tentacle monster is a teacher in a highschool and surprisingly its not creepy in any way whatsoever. The tentacle monster wants to get murdered by children so hes teaching the kids in his class to be assassins. Its actually rather engrossing. The main character seems to be some sort of born male genderqueer, an odd choice, I just hope they didnt make the mistake that throwing this random thing would give depth.
