The 4 devas arc in Gintama was just as good as bro, House and a few others made it out to be. The fact that these arcs that are all so very good are spread out like they are make them so much more enjoyable to encounter.

As someone who has watched it a lot and shown it to at least 3 people in person, I'd like to point you to the ending. Look at the shapes of the girls, that's what they likely really look like. The show seems to hint that they aren't as good looking as they appear in it.

A lot of people that watch anime use the word pretentious just whenever they feel like it.

 

I've seen people call FZ, Madoka, SSY, Jinrui, Monogatari, and Gits pretentious.

 

To me that word has lost all meaning when it comes to people discussing anime. 

 

To be fair, a lot of the time it's spot on.

 

Any ideology must give rise to a counter-ideology.

You got people praising anything with "symbolic" imagery and surreal art styles as incredibly deep.

 

Most of it IS pretentious BS, and people just read into thing/project.

Uh no he doesn't. Shirou was able to read every sword he saw from GoB and he can tell they are the real deal. He states his clearly to Rin and it is not an assumption. Again just because you don't see Gil does not mean he did not watch any fight since it is a confirmed fact that for ten years and most of the war he has been doing undercover work for himself.

 

There is one rule with noble phantasms, once they break, they are gone for good in the current war. Yet Archer broke 27 blades during his fight with Lancer, used the same broken phantasm on both Berserker and Caster and used a projected shield later on. All of this is imposable with real noble phantasms, that is why it's easy to deduce it is projection and thus he is a faker in Gils eyes. In Gils eyes, being a faker is worse then a mongrel. You're looking for plotholes that are simply not there. Same with why Shinji is at the castle, that is explained later.

 

You're trying to plug holes with your own projections.

It is the duty of a story to properly explain what is going on, not rely on audiences conjecture and  mental gymnastics . It's not the audiences job to explain how X is possible. It's a friggin TV Show. SHOW things.

Did we see Gil watching? Did we see ANYONE watching? Heck, all the anime had to do is show  a figure in shadows for a split second.

Even if he WAS watching, how would Gil know that the bow was a Broken Phantasm and not just a bow?

And again, where was Gil then? In the Church with Kotomine.

 

How would Gil know that Archers blades are not just an ability of his NP, rather than a projection? Stranger things have happened - I mean, Servants don't usually return from the dead either.
