The second season of Oregairu is just that much better than the first and even then the first season was good.

When a show manage to have both amazing protagonist, great characters close to the protagonist and spawn of pure despair like hand waving man I'm all for the show. Absolutely the big surprise this season and who knows what spot it will get when I summarize the spring season.
I think I know what the spark is. The main character needs to be an Oddball who is intelligent with a weird/logical outlook on life. So basically Okabe, Hachiman, Tatsuya, and Meliodas. Characters that all have a lot of internal dialogue.

And it's going to be pretty hard to say goodbye to these characters. They've been part of my routine for years now. I'm actually dreading it a bit.
The show is way too flawed to end up in my favorites, but it definitely left a strong impression. Really could have done with less useless filler episodes and more variety in plot devices though. At some point you end up thinking "So how are they gonna get their passes stolen today?" at the start of each episode.
