Pretty much. Nothing is more intimidating than a series that has a bazillion episodes. I like to think I can find better ways to waste time.

Sure it brought a lot of feels and made me cry. Yui's backstory was kinda tragic, like pretty much every other character's story in that show. But she was able to find happiness and move on in the end. I'd say it was more of a feel good episode for me. A "light at the end of the tunnel" sort of thing.

Angel Beats wasn't really depressing overall.

Depressing is more like seeing an innocent helpless character with almost nothing in the first place lose all that she has left in one of the most horrible way possible, and then spend the rest of her existence in a made up illusory world within her own mind, completely cut off from the world, because reality was just too painful to bear.

Only got 2 movies that come to mind right now. "Millennium Actress" and "The Girl who Leapt Through Time". Both brought a decent amount of feels. Millenium Actress in particular hit me pretty hard at some point.

I'm not really one for sad shows though. Got a depressing one in mind, but it's not particularly good and it doesn't make you feel much. Vampire Princess Miyu. It's just a big downer, but never really makes you want to cry. It also has a bunch of pretty crappy episodes. I still have a soft spot for it though. Something about that show just manages to resonate with me despite all its flaws.

Edit: Just in case someone reads this and decides to check out Miyu: the dub is very bad. The only episode of Miyu that you're allowed to watched dubbed is "City of Illusion". Because if you're going to watch a ridiculous episode like that, you might as well make the experience even more awful.
