I mean I could give you Death Note which is shorter or Code Geass where the MC's are sort of impossibly genius... but whatever.

As for intellectual anime?

 

Yeah, Ghost in the Shell, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Psycho-Pass, Monster and hell... most anime come with their own intellectual value I suppose?

 

Hunter x Hunter's Ant Arc is pretty damn deep and dark for a shounen... but so is most of the series. I have a soft-spot for HxH since it manages to convey its themes without them taking over the narrative.

 

But yeah... I'm just throwing crap your way.

 

If you want something that's Hard on the Science part of Science Fiction whilst still retaining its strengths with characters, narrative and so on then Planetes is the one for you.

 

Not many people have seen Planetes.

Well if it's just for the MC then and not the themes then frickin' most of those will do it, especially LOTGH.

 

Hell LOTGH could even put you to sleep because of that.

Protagonist is very competent. Can't solve everything, mind you, but is pretty much your practical, professional and pretty damn hawt MC.

 

Can't wait for the last arc to be subbed so I can watch it.

It's a short one, 13 episodes (well, not counting the few OVAs) and it's a relatively easy watch. If you do decide to pick it up. watch at least until episode 4 before trying to form an opinion. Or at least don't try to form an opinion on just the first episode, it's a relatively weak one.

I've watched more than that, but am not throwing every show I've watched in it.

Will keep that in mind when the time comes. I'm rather patient with shows and do my best to only judge when I'm nearing the end or completely done with a show but thanks for the heads-up, will try extra hard!

Okay, so if we must know, here is a list of all the animes I've watched, have interest in. Bear in mind I haven't finished them all or am currently watching.

 

Gundam, Code Geass, Heaven's Lost Property, Trigun, Gargantia on the Vendurous planet, Sword Art Online, Death Note, first episode of Cross Ange but cringed, Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Date of live, Mirai Nikki, Freezing, Freezing Vibration, Deadman wonderland, am watching PMMM, some blue exorcist but not much, had to endure Boku No Pico, watched a few hentai, cannot forget about some Eureka Seven, which I am currently watching, need to continue on Fullmetal Alchemist, Zone of the Enders Dolores and 2167 IDOLO, and a few others. Also the first episode of Angel Beats! Oh, and Kill la Kill and some Ghost in the shell and one piece. And Gurren Lagann.
