Just watched the UBW episode subbed and I'm glad that I can say that I still really like it.

 

That EMIYA, that Kirei moment, that Last stardust song flashback and that ending.

After two weeks of weak episodes it's great to see that Ufotable return with a far better episode that I got nothing against. Great visuals, equally great usage of OSTs and the usage of the EMIYA theme was crucial and they used it well. Had been a tiny concern after the graveyard scene where they failed to use a soundtrack that they'd not be able to use EMIYA well enough but they did

I love Lancer and the last few episodes has covered some of the best content that involve him and seeing it animated makes it all so much better. He might have bad luck but he make up for it by being generally awesome. Ufotable has really done so well with Shinji and having him provide some of that well needed comedy and respite from otherwise heavy stuff

At what part did Emiya play? I'm not familiar with the tune and this episode had probably the best soundtrack in a long time.

Yar, really fond of the Adventures of Mark Twain bit myself. Saw it some years back and was pleasantly surprised at how disturbing it was, especially in the context of a children's program. But the 70s and 80s really were delightful as far as vaguely terrifying children's programming goes.

They so were! I think we've talked about this before but it reminds me about how messed up a lot of old childrens fairytales could be since a lot of them were cautionary tales. Also nursery rhymes come to mind with this too since a lot of them deal with disease/murder and such (Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater and Ring Around the Rosy come to mind)

It starts playing the first time Shirou and Archer's blade connect and Archer's skill gets carried over to Shirou and it stops a little bit before Shirou sees Archer's memories.

Lancer was great.

 

I still don't like Archer, so seeing him get schooled at the end there was great. Shirou should've done a mic drop.
