Monologue? lol why?
Kinda of a missed opportunity there, if you ask me.
Oh nevermind me.
I looked back at the scene in the VN and compared the two but since they've already somewhat changed some stuff here and there they'll probably talk it out.

Funny how anime is apparently going to die. Just after EVA 4.0 probably. ![]()

Ok, gonna start with Parasyte, since that has been on the list since last year. Heard good stuff about it, so I expect some... good stuff.
Besides a somewhat mediocre middle it's overall great with some really awesome ups. Got one killer track in the OST aswell that's just sooooooooo good

I need to catch up on UBW so I can see this lolreview myself
Lolreview indeed. The fixation on alpha masculinity is particularly lulz worthy. I'm sitting there thinking, "That's what she's getting from the show? Word?"

The business model for animation also doesn't seem very healthy so that it would be hard to improve working conditions even if they wanted to, but then, what do I know, it seems to have worked this way for some time.
Since the last time Anno saved anime.

Working conditions in the industry do sound pretty terrible.

Great point tbh. That definitely needs to change.

Yeah, I've seen some posts about Japanese animation and their terrible wages/work conditions.
Correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am) but the Japanese have a really dedicated work ethic engrained into their culture, no?
Well whatever.
It doesn't really excuse like... what was it? 10 grand a year for begginers? There's an article on it on Anime Newsnetwork somewhere.
And oh, it costs like 100,000+ per episode?
I can't blame An-kun being a cynic.

Aye, we've talked about how insane they are and how the heck they manage to actually work all those hours. The Japanese are a very special people

Yeah they are.
I'd actually like a better picture of the whole thing. Not extremes or disgruntled animators making their statements.
But then again, I'd need to know a lot more about how Japan works.
I don't see an industry surviving on Japanese otakus alone. Kids watching One Piece and other shounen I get... but how does stuff like F/SN do?
Ugh, I'm pulling at straws here. Not qualified to make any guesses at all.

I don't know how much stuff like OP sells but FSN UBW sold very well.

I think it's to do with Nasu being smart with the entire thing.
Like, F/SN is accessable to so many people.
It's got a solid plot with well written characters
It's got a ton of marketable value with its 'waifus'
It has eroge
It has a ton of great fight scenes.
Cool-ass character design, so again, great marketable value for toys
So yeah, you're covering plot-nerds, otakus etc...
Especially the fact that it has a great story.
I don't think any of us would have really cared all that much if its writing wasn't good.

Yeah, considering what ANN stated, UBW sold 37k last year in sales with 10k is already a major success for most anime (got it wrong earlier here, it was not 100k lol).
But yes, further insight into the industry would be nice.
Though I'm too lazy.

I still find it amusing that Nasu had to cut stuff in the original VN because of budget issues.

And FZ sold 98K.
No wonder Ufotable can do the stuff they do.

100,000? JInkies, I heard it cost like 5 times as much as that to make an episode of "Spongebob"

Does Spongebob even deserve that much money pumped into it? I haven't watched the show in years but I heard it's terrible.
