That's why I said as long as friendship is for good character writing, it's fine.

Conan manga is popular for a Shonen Sunday manga ( The anime/movies help a lot), it's why I said the editors may want to keep it around longer.

Claymore is okay, not a big fan of it tho.

So I was gonna watch Attack On Titan but I just found out that Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 is animated so I'm probably gonna hold off on watching Attack On Titan for now.

Damn you internet!

Caught a malware somehow (how that one slipped past my anti virus programs and admin-limitations I have no idea, didn't install anything) that deleted my Windows security center and firewall. Couldn't restore those services and couldn't rollback, so I had to wipe the PC and do a clean reinstall ... 200GB worth of anime down the drain (among with loads of other stuff of course).

I watched the first episode of that and wasn't really that interested. Is it worth continueing?

Eh, can you live with the virus?

Try to install both AVG and Avast.

@ GL: It was the exact same for me. But I somehow managed to motivate myself to watch more. Its narrative can be hooking! Though definitely overrated, it's got potential and I've heard good things about the manga, so it's on my watch-list now.

Looking forward to the next ep actually.

@BlackKitty/Legate- having both Avast and AVG is a bad idea. They could conflict. Avast is plenty, but as for malware, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes (even though recently they had a mishap with identifying a windows file as malware - they fixed it promptly) + Spyware search and destroy should do the trick.

Sorry for your anime loss though. ;(

As for AoT, it's one of the first anime/manga series that has really caught my attention in awhile. I'm still trying to decide if it's because of the art style, the characters or the narrative. Either way, something about that show has me extremely hooked.

Mikasa is one of my favorite anime characters in recent memory. Though she is much much more developed in the manga than in the anime, but that's because the anime is only in it's fifth episode.

I haven't actually played the game yet which is why I'm checking it out. Then again, I probably would've watched it anyway. I've played Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 but I still decided to check out the anime.

Aah! "That" refers to Devil Survivor 2! Yeah, figures. All've seen and are'a watching Titan.

Hah, no. That aprticulare malware simply deleted the registries for the windows security services. I simply no longer had a firewall and such. And since it somehow snuck past my Avira Antivir, I am quite sure I could not just live with it. Besides, if my PC is contaminated, then I restart in secure mode, then I run the complete scan, delete found data, check my registry for unwanted entries and then rollback to an earlier iteration of my system. So far I only had to do such stuff two times.

But this time I couldn't complete the rollback, so the malware was obviously still hiding out somewhere. Hence I used the hard break and went for a clean system reinstall, HDs formated and everything. Better save then sorry. Even though there was no valuable information on my PC (the worst the malware could do is hijack my email/origin and steam accounts if it somehow got into those, but it couldn't purchase anything since I run those off prepaid cards), but I don't take kindly with malware. If I don't want it on my PC, it's getting purged. If I can't purge the malware alone, then I'll purge the whole system and start clean. Simple as that.

Yeah, I got that. Was more replying to Legatus I guess...

Again, deepest sympathies for the anime loss!

I just watched a movie (well technically a collection of shorts) called "Byousoku 5 Centimeter". I liked the animation and the art style, it was beautiful. The movie itself was sad (probably hit me in the feels a little more watching it now), and to be honest had no real beginning, middle or end. It was kind of just small snapshots into these two people's lives, but it was done very honestly. I guess in a way it was rather artistically done but it worked.

If you're only going to watch one, watch Titan. I've been keeping up with both and Devil Survivor is just something I watch whenever I get around to it. It doesn't keep me anticipating every new episode like Titan does.

So we're at the mid-season point right about now and I've gotta say almost everything I'm watching is very good. I was even surprised by two shows that are now one of my favorites of the season.

Here's what I'm still actively following:
Date A Live
Aku no Hana
Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai.
Photokano
Shingeki no Kyojin
Suisei no Gargantia
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru.

And the ones I kinda don't care so much about and will probably marathon after they're done:
Devil Survivor 2 The Animation
Kakumeiki Valvrave
Karneval (TV)
RDG: Red Data Girl

Aku no Hana and Yahari Ore surprised me with how good they are shaping up to be. The stuff I don't really care about might be such because of an overload of new things and I just can't keep up with all of it, but I really wasn't interested by most of them.

The fact that you can watch those at once is impressive. I can't keep up with multiple shows.

It's kinda hard and if it weren't for the fact that I don't wanna put some on hold to finish them later and inadvertently have my interest in them diminish, I would.

I prolly won't watch so much at once after this season cause it's easy to forget subtle things when you have like 10 story lines/characters/relationships to follow :P

But some of those demand my attention, like Titan, Gargantia, and OreImo.

On half ep mark of Titans' 6th episode and... well, even more than last time I feel depiction of things is rather rough in the show. Not so very convincing as a world. People are a tad too simplified. Even for shonen. "Western" type unsubtle contrasts. E.g. "good" and "bad" in all roughs etc. Overly using extremes and emotionality.

Though it does a good job in twists, surprises and the epic.

I'm finding Date A Live completely average tbh, especially lately. I struggle to get through each episode.

I liked it better when it just focused on Shido and Tohka. These last few episodes feel like they don't have much direction, like the writers weren't sure what they wanted to express. Kinda disapointing because I really enjoyed the first few episodes.

Yeah, I have to agree. I did like the start, and Tohka's character design is my favourite by far. It would have been better to focus on her and trying to keep her in check rather than going off on all these tangents. I think it might be the fact that they're trying to push the harem aspect too much, but then again To Love-Ru did it sucessfully (alien girl in love with a teenage boy etc etc). It's definitely falling out on the plot aspect.

EDIT:
Also just watched a series called "Higashi no Eden". Apparently it won a few awards when it was released in '09. It was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I liked the plot development and the characters (even if the noses were weird... :I)

I've been meaning to watch that. The male protagonist is voice by my favorite (male) Japanese VA.
